I am blind or something

All the demo is is basically farming wood and ore over and over and over. Most of the content is locked and the grinds are overly long for simple thing. Getting to automation requires a lot of clicking or holding down on the button. Even when you start getting your workers set up... all the ways to upgrade those units are locked in the demo. So what's the point of the demo? You can't even actually grind content. I like these type of games but there's nothing really unique about this game or even... fun ab...

Can anyone explain to me what Prestige Points are for? Do they indicate how many times i've prestiged or do they have more use?
