SteamFest Patch v0.04

We are launching patch v0.04 to coincide with this SteamFest on October 14, 2024. In this patch, we significantly refined animations, replaced the old "parry" system with a block and perfect block system, and much more!

We would like to inform you that we intend to work on patches for improvements and bug fixes until version 0.05. After this patch we will continue with the development of the entire game.

This patch includes the following changes and updates:

We have fixed minor errors and bugs reported by players since the last patch.

We have improved the fluidity of the main character's controls.

We have polished the main character's animations to make them smoother and more visually appealing.

We have improved the game's interaction with the directional pad on PlayStation and Xbox controllers.

We have made improvements to the lighting, especially in shadows, and added details like floating dust particles and some new sound effects.

We have improved and balanced the two bosses in the demo, fixing minor bugs and enhancing the gameplay experience.

We have significantly modified the skill system. Now, at the start of the game, the cooldown for your Dash is no longer 9 seconds but 3.5 seconds.

The grab ability no longer requires alternating between walls to work. You can grab the same wall multiple times in a row if your skill is sufficiently upgraded with Astral Skill Stones.

We have improved the functionality of the game's audio controls.

When using potions from the quick slots, effects are now displayed based on the potion's effect.

We have replaced the old parry system with one based on blocks and perfect blocks.

The dialogues have been completely revamped to better fit the game's overall aesthetic and style.

Now, breaking crates or environmental objects has a 1% chance of rewarding consumable items.

Did you just took aeterna noctis metroidvania name and change it to astra noctis and called it a new game ? At first I thought it was the same developer as aeterna noctis - didn't even realized it's completely something else

Patch v0.03 from October 1, 2024

Thousands of people have played our demo and have left us their impressions and a good list of bugs that we are going to fix with this v0.03 patch that will come into effect on October 1, 2024.

We would like to inform you that we intend to work on patches for improvements and bug fixes until version 0.05. After this patch we will continue with the development of the entire game.

This patch includes the following changes and updates:

We've improved the controls to be a little smoother. Additionally, we have sped up the character's attack animations.
We have fixed an issue where some enemies would appear floating or spawn very abruptly.
The character now moves 5% faster from the start.
Fixed a bug where Vita Dantis' second hit would hit twice.
As requested, the mouse cursor now disappears when playing Astra Noctis.
We've reduced the cost and rebalanced the points in the Passive tree in the Powers menu.
We have fixed the bug where buttons were displayed in Spanish in the tutorials even when English was selected.
We've changed the description of Astra Noctis on Steam to better fit the new reality of the game.
Fixed a bug where the first boss of the game would not hit when doing the spin attack.
We've made changes to the AI of some monsters so they don't get stuck so easily.
As you recommended, we've added more Astral Stones to the demo so you can better experiment with the skills.
Astral Stones and Maps are now added automatically. It will not be necessary to activate them from the inventory.
You can no longer sneak attack the first boss of the game.
The response of the audio adjustment in the Settings menu has been improved.
Fixed an issue where pressing circle in the Settings menu would always exit the Menu.
Consumable items can now be stacked in the inventory up to a maximum of 9 items per slot.
Fixed a bug where you could open the Stash even if you were not on an Altar of Existence.
Now when you die you do not lose the progress you have made, however you will be subject to a penalty of 10% of the total Existence you have.
Interaction with the Powers menu has been improved. It is now easier to move from one point to another.
We've sped up some enemies. Many of you told us that they were too slow.
The Map tutorial is now displayed at the start. Additionally, the default map includes a section of the caves.
Improved the translation of some tutorials and some item descriptions.
We've reduced the size of the box that displays your total Stock on the HUD.
Now, messages with recommendations and curiosities are displayed on the loading screen.

Before we begin, thank you all very much for the support of the Astra Noctis demo. In the first 24 hours of the demo being released we surpassed 300 wishlists!

Based on the feedback received on social media (SoloGGStudio) and by email today we bring the patch to version 0.02 of the Demo which includes the following changes:

We have retouched the ability to grab onto walls so that it does not incorrectly interact with walls when brushing against them.
Now if your life points are odd only half a heart container will be displayed instead of a whole one as before. This confused players into believing that they could refill the entire heart even when they did not have an even number of life points.
After defeating the Golem Guardian Boss the door behind the boss will always remain closed, as it should be. Previously it would open under certain circumstances, but the player was unable to continue.
Fixed an issue that blocked dropdown menus in the settings section of the main menu.
Some people have reported crashing issues when using the elevator. We have disabled player controls while using the elevator to prevent this.
Fixed a bug that sometimes caused some cutscene-type dialogues to leave the player stuck without being able to use the controls after finishing the dialogue.
Fixed a bug that caused choosing to exit in an altar menu to prevent you from using the altar again.
Reduced the weapon hitbox. Allowed you to hit enemies behind you.
Buttons to exit tutorials now properly indicate which button to press based on the controller chosen in the settings menu.

Fun little demo. I'd make the walking/running a bit faster. Keep at it! Also the elevator should have it's state saved to where I left it and not have it reset after death.
