Yes it's a remake.

They're not remastering Twin Snakes because the game flopped and there's probably a rights issue since the game was made by Silicon Knights while under contract with Nintendo, meaning they'd probably have to pay Nintendo to port it and considering the game was a flop, they likely don't think it's worth the money that would be spent.

They're not remaking MGS2 because they just don't want to and MGS3 is debatably the most well liked game in the series, it makes perfect sense to remake it whether they're testing the waters for future remake projects, or if it's just a one-off.

SH2 is getting remade for the same reason, it's debatably the most well liked game in the series. Also I'm pretty sure that out of the first three, SH2 sold the most.

true on twin snakes was silly making a PS1 exclusive remkae an NGC only at the time thank god for emulators

i donno i loved MGS2 more so than 3 mainly cause 3 was very bloomy graphics wise story wise it was great am i wrong to say 2 is basically right after 1 and before 4 to say if they are going by time line order it will be a while before we see it

true even back way then still love playing it but on steam as apposed to on the cube or emulator (pity the max res that game does is 1080 without any modifications)
