METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER

Kojima is overrated
If you aren't buying the game because Kojima isn't working on it, then leave. Better yet, you shouldn't have wasted your time even coming here to cry that your favorite Market Face isn't part of a game. Kojima did not write all of Metal Gear by himself, he didn't develop it all on his own and he couldn't have possibly published it under Kojima Inc. it took a lot of work from a lot of people who are still at Konami and they will sadly get overshadowed by a hack.

Don't believe me? Look at Death Stranding. You think PT was going to be great? Yea it probably was because a team was working on it.

I'm not trying to discredit Kojima as it may seem, but he alone didn't build Metal Gear to what it is, and while his involvement definitely made it a better experience, he takes far too much credit for something that a lot of people worked on who are still at Konami.

Do you feel better now?

The thing is OP is right. Kojima didn't create the game by himself and yet he tends to get a majority of the credit. I find it weird that people act like any work he does is perfect...thing is his recent games haven't been great. Still remember how awful the P.T was and yet people tried to claim the game was good.

I don't mind the remake not having him involved because it gives devs more attention instead of catering to just 1 person. I still remember how often his name was spammed on MGS5. It's the same problem with other franchises like Gears with Cliffy. Though I kind of think Kojima probably isn't as bad.

Kojima was the heart and soul of the Metal gear solid series. i don't think you understand just how important of a role the director is when it comes to creating games / movies. So many game and movie sequels fail once a new director takes over and messes everything up. Lucky for konami right now they only have to worry about remaking Kojima's work instead of finding a new director to make a sequel. It's easier to remake someones work than it is to build a new game sequel from scratch.

With you on that bud. I just don't understand the blind, unquestioning favouritism surround Kojima, I like some his games, but not to the point where I think he's God and boycott anything that doesn't have his name on it. I'm hoping that this game will be good, unlike Konami's last attempt.

I never said Kojima is a god, all I'm saying is he was a huge reason for MGS's success and it's important to not ignore that. The first new metal gear solid game under different direction was one of the worse games ever and was a huge reason konami stopped all production of metal gear solid for so long (Remember Metal Gear survive??) It's funny how everyone forgets to bring that game up when they say metal gear solid will be good without Kojima. I guess it's better to forget about that game tho right?

Kojima directed and wrote the game, why is it so hard to accept that he played a major role in it's development? Some people aren't going to want to support this remake because of the way he AND his team were treated for years at Konami, stop acting like this is exclusively about Kojima. Death Stranding is also great by the way, and that was also worked on by many staff members that used to work on Metal Gear. Listen, there's nothing wrong with wanting to buy this remake, it's up to you, but it's also not wrong to not want to support a massive corporation that mistreated it's employees.

Kojima is like George Lucas. He's the foundation, and the visionary. But he needs talented people around him to make it work successfully and are willing to tell him "NO" , otherwise he goes off the rails.
