Fix the Slow start times
Devs, you put this game on sale and almost no one bought it. Its horribly unencoraging to see the really slow start time as well as the long time it takes to even locate the server. It gives a terrible first impression and makes the game seem sloppy and glitchy. When you buy a game for 3 dollars, people tend to give up easily, so try and fix it for your own sake.

Dude.. Not helping. and I agree about the loadtimes. Mainly between the auth server before the title comes up.

Just a joke... anyways te wait time isn't even that bad for me. I dont have any issues with it.

I was kinda hoping that you'd stick around though.... haven't seen you in-game or any workshop items from you in over a month, then I found you've been 'Blockstorming' xD Oh, well. While we do have a few people who take a longer time than normal to bring up the server list (and we have never had anyone work with us long enough to work out the issue) load times should not be a problem. Especially in the current builds which are optimised for the xbox release..

So give us some more to go on... which part of loading is slow - is it before the update screen, is it after that? Here's the timings from my computer for example.

launch -> Update screen including video 20s
UpdateScreen -> main menus 3s
main menu -> online game server list 1s
Joining official Exacot CTf - game in progress (so we have to stream all map changes and all guns) - 12s

None of those seem excessive to me. So we need to work out why its different from you. Wasting time disparaging the developers that you would like to help you really isn't productive.

I haven't left, I still boot around the forums from time to time to help people and check on topics but I've been playing other things lately. Not just BS but other thigns as well. I'm more than able to help the players or devs if anything comes up that needs addressed. I just haven't played in awhile, Wanted more of a strategic feel lately than a twitchshooter one. XD

Well thats a nice thought but its more like 2 minute menu start and a 40 sec start to find servers, not to mention a 15 second delay each time to test a gun, which gets tiring fast.

Oddly enough, assuming it doesn't time out (about 1/3 of the time) the load times for maps themselves have decreased a lot, i used to time out twice before even thinking of joining a game. But specifically the update screen and the "authenticating" is what takes so long

This is the same problem I've been having for awhile.. And apparently there's an intro video or something, But I've never once seen it since I started playing this game.

Remind me where in the world you are both based.

Vyvyn - I thought we had fixed the video problem for you a couple of builds ago - are you sure you are running the latest build (check in properties for betas)

I was sure I did, Then your reply made me doubt and check and nope, It's been opted out since the fix prettymuch. At the time not being able to play at all because of blackscreen was the bigger issue and the start times though slow I'd gotten used to. But they are still there. :P
