Where are my crash logs?

Hey everyone,

We'll be using this discussion forum to address any issues you're having with the game. We do ask that you please keep your topics relevant to bugs in the game. Any feature requests or suggestions should be made in the General Discussion forum.


BEFORE YOU POST:

If your game is hard crashing, we ask that you send your crash logs to [e-mail]. This will really help us isolate the issue you are experiencing.


WHERE CAN I FIND MY CRASH LOGS?

If the game ever crashes, it generates a crash log in the same folder as the config file, which can be found in your Windows APPDATA folder. To find the APPDATA folder on your computer, click the START button. Then, for Windows XP click the Run command, and for other versions of Windows enter the "Search Programs and Files" search bar. Inside the bar, type in %APPDATA% and press ENTER to load your APPDATA folder. This should lead you to \AppData\Roaming\.

Your crash logs should be located in \AppData\Roaming\Rogue Legacy\

Crash logs for Mac and Linux should appear in the save game folder (listed below).


WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE ANY CRASH LOGS?

That would really suck. In that case, open a discussion on this forum outlining your issue, and we'll try our best to figure out what's going on.

Windows %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\SavedGames\RogueLegacy
OS X ~/Library/Application Support/RogueLegacyStorageContainer/
Linux ~/.local/share/RogueLegacyStorageContainer/


WHERE CAN I FIND MY CONFIG FILE?

If you want to manually change game config data (like fullscreen or windowed), you can do so by opening the GameConfig.ini file with notepad. The config file can be located here:

Windows %APPDATA%\RogueLegacy
OS X ~/Library/Application Support/RogueLegacyStorageContainer/
Linux ~/.config/RogueLegacyStorageContainer/

I have a problem in appdata I don't have the RougeLegacy folder...What should I do???

:O are you sure the game installed properly?
A GameConfig.ini automatically is created there the first time you run the game. Even if you run the game you don't see it?

Oi game wont start. sits at "installing M$ .net 4.0 framework client profile .cmd 1 of 2"

Hey i just bought the game and it crashes after the first couple of seconds... All i see is the yellow door showing a company or something and then the game crahses

Installed and played the game for 1 hour yesterday. Today I wanted to play another hour, the only hour of gaming I can "afford" per day.

It was 1 hour of troubleshooting because I can't play! It won't start. First I restarted my computer, didn't help. Game does not start.

Under Task Manager, Processes, there is Rogue Legacy.exe for about 5 seconds after trying to start it through steam.

Reinstalled it, didnt help.

Found a thread, linking to a thread, linking to a Terraria-thread. It told me to uninstall XNA, .NET which I did. Then run a cleanup-tool for .NET, it was done. Then reinstalled .NET and used a check-tool to see if there was any problems -- none! Then checked the "Owner" and applied it to "Administrators" on my C:\Windows\Microsoft .NET folder, and sub-folders.
Then I installed XNA again.

Then I deleted Rogue Legacy in Steam, and installed it in another directory. I went into and put the .exe as "Run as administrator". Restarted my computer.

Still, same problem. Game does not even load.
No Error logs under my Roaming-folder.

EDIT:
Started Windows Update and It found some more .NET-stuff, and I also closed d3doverrider. Now it worked. Started d3doverrider again, and still works. So prob ♥♥♥♥ in WSUS that was needed? Should't Steam install that ♥♥♥♥? Well, that's .NET- and Steam-♥♥♥♥ and not the Game.

Just that I'm to tired to play now, so no gaming for me. Worst day ever :S

im having the same issue as Bomkron and neither of the links has helped me fixed the problem
