how in the hell do i edit the key bindings ? :(

the default won't detect my D-pad (so being unable to move left or right is kinda game breaking)
i'm using the linux version of the game

i browsed the forum and some players had success configuring that in Big picture mode.
So i went there, binded keys (the example pad has way more keys than my pad), saved and ran the game again.

Now not a single key works in game.

i read every topic about pads, key binding and keyboards in both technical support parts of the forum... to no avail.

is there an ingame menu to rebind keys ?
if yes how do i navigate to this menu using only the keyboard.

For now i'll be stuck using only the keyboard.
Can someone list me the keyboard defaults ?
The game tooltips tells me to press Y, X, and others which obviously are gamepad buttons.

i can't find the proper keyboard key to get the ingame options.
There's a yellow Y round button over an icon that looks like it would lead to options but which keyboard key is that ?

There are game screens where the Esc key does absolutely nothing.
The map key seems to be the tabulation key.
What's the key for the L button ? i can't find it.
Seriously, did someone actually manage to play this with the keyboard ?

i accidently pressed Tab on the main screen and boom, the options menu appeared.
i hate whoever thought it a good idea to make the Tab key so important in this game.
(and of course that specific key is not editable in the controls menu)

None of my pad buttons are bindable trough this menu :(

Jump being bound to S while it is already bound to space beats me.
How does that make any sense ?

So while in game the Tab brings the map and while on the main screen it brings the options.
So while in game the Tab triggers the < button and while on the main screen it triggers the yellow Y button.
i need an aspirine now.

aaaand it's Esc key to change profile on the main screen.
Kill me now, i'm dead serious.

on the main screen the yellow Y button is Esc key, on the legacy screen it's backspace...god ! i'm going nuts.

The red B button in manor upgrade screen is the alternate (to space bar) jump key. The space bar does nothing.

The reason the keyboard buttons don't make much sense to you is because you only see Gamepad buttons. If the gamepad is removed, the icons are changed to keyboard buttons, and would make sense for people playing with keyboard only.

There is indeed an in-game keybinding option. Pressing TAB from the start menu brings it up, and you can press ENTER to confirm, arrow keys to move, and ESC to go back.
