Sudden speed increase?

I'm curious.. is this something that's been added or just randomly happens when starting the game?
When I tried the game just now all works normal untill you pay charon to enter the casle and it loads the "building" window. After entering the castle all of a sudden it's like you have the ADHD trait and is faster, except all of the game is like it! Both the monsters, background, your own players, attacks, sensitive spikes etc.

And this happens to all of the classes, with or without the ADHD trait. It doesn't even do a difference now on if I have the ADHD trait on the character, it's still the same speeded up version. The sensitive spikes are impossible to avoid even if you yourself is speeded up because you can't react in time.

Normally I can survive as the spelunker through all four "levels" without dying and 100% clear all rooms of enemies but now when it's this speeded up version I can barely make a dent through the castle itself (easiest level).

As I can't find any kind of setting in the game itself to change speed I was hoping you might have a solution for me.

A few more notices about the speed-up problem as I've restarted the game twice now with same problem.

*Creating a new legacy/slot does not help in decreasing speed.
*It slows down to "normal" speed if I have the traits Nostalgic, Farsighted and/or nearsighted.
* music is very slightly speeded.. like maybe playing at 105-125% speed instead of the normal 100%.
* these problems do ONLY happen after paying charon to enter castle. Not at the log-in menu, manor or garden(blacksmith/fortune teller/architect).

Have so far not reinstalled the game yet (as it's pretty late) but so far no difference. if it changes after reinstalling it I'll mention it below.

i have this problem too but for some reason only in certain parts of the castle when im in the main castle or forest there speed up but in other areas it slows back down. Cant get the speed up to stop either making easier castle parts alot more difficult while trying to get the other areas

I turned the game on today and the problem fixed itself i have no idea what caused it or why it fixed dont think i did anything other than resign into steam

For me the problem i still there even after reinstalling, trying with new save, updating steam and relogging on steam.

I have the same problem, it's quite boring. I can't play it anymore...

I've learnt to work around the increase but it took quite a while to get used to it..
why is tech not answering on this question.
