Rogue Legacy IS easy mode, since you are constantly "New Game +"ing.
P.S. I am level 462 or something absurd now.
One thing I don't understand - I was watching a video of a guy playing and he had like 500+ health, but only 16 points into the health powerup. That math doesn't add up. I got +5 HP for beating the first boss, but are there other ways to raise your stats outside of buying upgrades?
He was probably a barbarian or whatever class gets a load of bonus HP. The 3rd boss you fight is probably the hardest so don't get discouraged if you lose to him a few times.
I just finished NG+ in like 1/8th the time it took me to initially complete the game.
There are also grace runes to make the game easier for you, but if you can't progress, I guess it's probably safe to assume you don't have those.
Also, on the left side of your castle upgrades, there is an upgrade that allows you to retain a percentage of your gold while paying Cheron's toll. This can help stack a little gold on top of your next run. It's not much, but it all adds up.
The other thing I would mention is class. I can breeze through a castle with a spellsword or a dragon. 10k gold is kind of a normal run with one of those, now. They are beyond powerful. If you haven't unlocked those, they are worth their weight in gold. Making only 400-500 now could take awhile to get them, but maybe you'll start having better luck. Having a good spell for the spellsword is important, too. I personally find the axe the least useful spell with them. The spinning disc or fire shield are fantastic. (BTW, the unlock for the dragon class is a screen up from all the castle upgrades... almost hidden, really).
I gotta admit I never used Blood gear on a Barbarian King, but as stats from gear do scale along wtih the class' modifiers, I'd expect they'd actually be *more* affected by the HP reduction. If stat penalties work the same way as bonuses, then the Barbarian King would lose 45 HP per piece of Blood Gear instead of 30 for a Paladin (or less for low-HP classes).
Percentage-wise it's all the same, of course, but regeneration from food would be negatively impacted too.
Something useful in a thread full of neckbeards and aspies.
People suggested runes long before that poster did. In fact, a lot of posters in here are offering good advice to the OP.
DAYUM!!
