It's ok. Hit and run is what I use it on. Nice for a long drawn out fight with the final boss if you can't brute force him down with strong hits or can't take any hits yourself (being underpowered). Otherwise, kind of weak attack (the monster invulnerability for 1 second blows) with no specials to it like AOE, penetration, or size makes him just a novelty. Can be useful if you wanna turn the game into a bullet hell shooter, especially if yours keep rolling with dwarfism like mine. ;)

I tried the dragon on the final boss and i was just too slow to be able to dodge any hits during the first stage and i died because of it. Maybe using haste runes will benefit the dragon immensely. I might try that...

I hate the Dragon. I really, trully feel like I wasted 5k.
Their HP pool is insanely small. They have decent mobility, sure, but one hit and its pretty much over in a boss room.

Also, their attack is bad.

Yes, they rapidly regen MP (good) and the attack can does spell damage (good). However, I have noticed that you cannot spam it against enemies. After the first hit the next two seem to pass right through (BAD). Not to mention it can be difficult to aim the attack, especially vs enemies that can jump/fly/move more directions than left or right.

I'll stick to my Spellsword, thanks.

To me, Dragon seems like a play-it-safe class. You can't just rush in, but since you have that unlimited flight and ranged attacks, you can avoid pretty much all damage incredibly easy. Still isn't the best, I like spellsword more because of the enormous damage outputs, but for stuff like when I want to beat the final boss without really caring, I like the dragon. Also, if you don't think you can beat the final boss easily with the dragon, do note that the only thing I'm using is haste runes...

The Dragon is OK. I've done pretty well with them. They trivialize a lot of rooms and a lot of fights, but require very slow and careful play in others.

If you ever see a Dragon with Dwarfism, go for it! It's purely beneficial, as the fireballs stay the same size. Gigantism on a Dragon is terrible though

Make sure to adjust your equipment to fit the Dragon. Strength and crit don't matter at all - his attack is a spell. Max MP doesn't mean much because he regens it so quickly. Just stack as much HP, int, and armor as you can. Vault and fly runes do nothing, and sprint is pretty much useless. Vampirism works fine, but siphon is nearly useless. Haste is good in moderation, as long as you can handle the speed.

I think the dragon makes boss fights a breeze - both the big bosses and the random min-boss rooms.

Meh, I'd rather play Barbarian King. I don't hate the Dragon for Fairy Chest hunting, but otherwise, I can do without.

Dragon on the final boss in my first playthrough made him a cakewalk but mostly I don't like the way Dragons handle.

The half-dragon is excellent in NG and still good in NG+ because of its incomparable maneuverability. Literally incomparable: none of the other classes get anything close to infinite flight for kiting, sniping, fairy chest room navigation and general avoidance. When enemy damage output is still relatively unthreatening, meaning you can vamp it all back if you do get hit by something (which shouldn't happen often in the early runs since there are far fewer things that shoot through walls), and your damage output with fire breath (at least if you wear INT-boosting items) is comparable to melee classes before you start getting boosts into your crit stats to quickly outscale any kind of magic damage. In the first two runs, half-dragons are great.

After the first two runs, dragons are almost useless. Damage output that doesn't scale with crit, has limited firing capacity due to mana limitations, can't hit more than one target at a time, can't be aimed in any direction but forward and can't penetrate walls at all? Terrible. Miniscule health bar means you survive two, MAYBE three hits from practically anything in NG++ and beyond. Still okay for killing 3/4 bosses (since you can effectively play keep-away with all of them) if you have the patience for it, but good luck killing Alexander in that DPS race against mass spawns when you do insignificant damage to either him or his friends.

It's a shame, really, as I quite enjoyed running the half-dragon throughout NG and NG+ once I had it unlocked. Once run #3 started and I had crit and physical damage stats up, though? All Assassin all the time. Stealth > flight for survival, massive crits > pitiful fire breath, AND it has more health.
