If you are playing the game normally and want to maximize profits, throw some curse runes on. If you are playing a Paladin or Barbarian, curse runes compliment them nicely because of their huge health pools. Vampirism is essentially worthless with health levels over 1000.
I tested both curse and bounty runes, running the depths and maya. With bounty + Sage set I ended up with 10k more gold, but it was super hard because the sage set is essentially worthless, but using Curse runes I got just barely less money, but I had to do more room runs and fight more for chests.
Depending on the rooms you encounter, you could get a lot of chests, or a lot of deaths. So the Curse runes are kinda hit and miss. The Bounty runes will always be rewarding since you can earn coins and money bags from objects. If you want to earn gold with minimal risk, this is the way to go, but if you want to gamble for big money, the curse runes are better.
