Why does this 2D game lag on my computer??
I've never had trouble running a 2D game on my computer before. Why is this game unplayably laggy. Even reducing the resolution doesn't change anything. I was really looking forward to playing this. It's pretty disappointing.

Same here, it alternates between running smoothly and slowing down considerably to where its hardly playable. The longer I play, the longer the slow episodes get.

Complain about the game running ♥♥♥♥♥♥ without posting your specs. GG

never had any issues so far.

It's quite a resourcy game believe it or not. Just because the assets are 2D, doesn't mean the game is fully optimised. The programmers probably made a lot of shortcuts and bad design choices. But as Newman said, you gotta post your specs. Have you updated your drivers? Are you running from a laptop that has been set to something other than high performance?

I wasnt really looking for a solution. I was mostly just warning people not to assume it will run because it's 2D. I'm probably going to have to wait until I get a new computer to play it. But anyway I have an Intel i7 processor and an Intel HD 3000 graphics card with 1700 MB of graphics memory.

Yeah, my specs are a little worse than that. I also got Intel HD. To be honest, this game doesn't look like it deserves those kind of resources (don't get me wrong, I like the look of the game), isn't it possible to allow for a few more settings for lower end machines ...?

Go into the options and check "Lower shader quality" that helped all of my lag.

Well the potato acting in place of your graphics card is likely why. Your processor is fine. While the game does take more than one would expect, it should still run reasonably on a junker PC. You just need a graphics card, not a potato like so many laptops have.

That's more of a cooked potato, not a regular potato.
(a.k.a it's almost decent)

Most of the time it's not something graphical that causes lag. Physics calculations and poorly baked shaders will also do it. You have to be careful with procedural generation, it can be tricky.
