Please try making sure that, in your Windows sound options, you've got 'game' set as the default playback device, instead of 'chat' - you should have these as separate audio channels, as you've noticed. Then, once the game is open (hopefully on the 'game' audio channel), make sure Discord is set to the 'chat' audio channel in its configuration options.
Does that seem to solve this? Does this happen with other games, or with other headsets or speakers? If it happens with other games and no other headsets, it could be a good idea to reach out to Steelseries for assistance. If it happens with other headsets, I'd certainly like to investigate further from here

Hey Peti,
Thank you for getting back to us!
While typically voice triggered, I would also suggest checking the 'Attenuation' settings in Discord.
You should be able to check this by going to Settings > Voice and Video > Attenuation > Slide down to 0.
Let us know if this helps!

This used to be caused by a voice setting in the Ubisoft launch app.
They have since removed the whole voice section in the app so it can no longer be fixed that way.
However there is another fix you can try.
Go to your sound control panel on your computer. You can usually get there by right clicking the little speaker on the bottom right bar of your desktop > sound settings > sound control panel > communications > make sure that the option " do nothing" is the one that's marked.
Click apply and that should solve the problem.
Hopefully this will solve the problem for you as well.
This is something I would suggest too, as Windows can occasionally take control of any app that is running and alter the sound levels in each device and app to what it thinks is appropriate.
Selecting 'Do Nothing' should stop this from happening.
Another step I would suggest trying -
- Launch your game
- Right click on the Volume/Sound speaker icon in your Taskbar and select Open Sound Settings
- Scroll all the way down to the bottom until you hit the Advanced Sound Options and select App Volume Device Preferences.
- View the 'Output and Input' options, your The Crew and Discord should appear in the list of Applications here.
- Under the dropdown column for The Crew and Discord, select which Audio Device you'd like to the input and output the game's audio to, for your headset, speakers and microphone and any other devices you may have connected
This step checks that the input and output for your applications are set up correctly, in case you have multiple devices that can pick up and output sound that may be interfering.
If you still continue to have issues with the game and Discord, please let us know as there are a few more things we can suggest you check.
