The Crew

The Crew has stopped working.
I got the crew today and it took all day to download the patch. Just be for the finish when you start to play it crashes back to desk top and says. The Crew has Stopped working with out any description. GREEEE. Any one on steam have this problem or just Uplay. Looked on google but no fix. :(

Have any of you tried disabling the Uplay cloud save option and trying again?

I used to have the occasional problems with a Uplay game failing to launch, and that all ended the day I turned off the cloud.

Might also try disabling desktop themes and/or desktop composition for the game's .exe

i had the same problem and its cause the game hates fullscreen...i used geforce expirence to change the screen froom fullscreen to borderless and it works fine now

after installing the game, reinstalling it countless times, verifying the game thing in my sleep and nightmares, and changing antivirus's ..yeh I got it to work once by making a shortcut to the desktop and having it launched from there. The happiness was short lived..doesn't launch again. I think I'm giving up! I never usually have problems with games launching but this one is a doozy.

i had same issues but when i killed my Razar apps, it's allowed the game to start. i've had that problem with others games CIV BE: razar apps blocking games from starting.

That's strange because I have the basic Razer mouse driver running and The Crew loads every time without issue.

Another possibility for some people could be OSD's like the Riva Tuner OSD that installs with EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner, although I use it with EVGA Precision and it runs fine.

I have afterburner installed buts its not running. I've disabled everything except for Corsair Link which controls my fans and pump speed. I don't think its a particular software that causes the crashes. Guess it just depends on the users computer.

Yeah, it's definitely gonna depend on a number of variables, but it's always worth eliminating the more obvious candidates before moving onto troubleshooting the more obscure possibilities.

Well I'm out of suggestions. :/

I'm hopeful that there will be a patch soon. We shouldn't have to disable 20 things every time we want to play a game.

Dont think so and it shouldnt be. Like i said i formated my PC and it worked fine just apart from tiny micro stuttering every now and then. But then again i shouldnt have had to format my PC either to get it working. Looks like its a typicle ubisoft problem and a big FU to its customers.

Ive been having this problem, and uninstalling uplay does work for me, but Im not sure if it would for you guys.

If you did something like alt-f4 the game or pressing restart button without exiting the game properly, it'd give you this error on next startup.

Solved: (May be not working for everyone but Im trying)

I deleted my "The Crew" folder in my My Documents folder (Not the game dir), such as in
"Libraries\Documents"
or
"C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents"

Try to go to uplay>game properties>local files>verify files. Worked for me.

If you have an Nvidia graphics card, change the game from fullscreen to windowed using GeForce Experience; http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience, I did that and it resolved the problem for me

Win10 64 bit
i've tried to launch the game with compatibility mode to windows 7 and 8..
but that doesn't seem to be working..
plz help :(
