There are games (Forza comes to mind) that will downshift immediately to 1st if you're stopped. That makes it a lot quicker to "downshift" into Reverse.
Been thinking of picking up The Crew for XB1, but I only play with manual transmission and having "Press X to Reverse" sounds... ug.
Thanks for sharing this bit of info!
It is more fun to drive in manual, plus the amount of extra control it offers your car makes it much better, provided you know what you're doing. My point is the effect should be available in manual as well as auto...especially since auto sucks ;)
I assumed that key bindings would allow me to address the issue of using manual transmission, but I've yet to find anything other than hard coding in new key bindings in the game files.
Love to know if there's been any updates.
Having only recently picked it up on Xbox for free and then having my ass beat down by cops every time I get above one star is annoying, especially because playing this game in Australia comes with the added "feature" of cars lag spawning in front of you when you're near another player.
this...manual transmission means you have one gas pedal and one brake, that´s in EVERY other game... the reverse with brake on an automatic is a "easier to do" thing...just dedicate a button to reverse gear... done...
EDIT: and by slowly I mean SLOWLY. You can't quickly shift down by mashing the button 6 times, you have to pause for about a full second in between each or it won't register
That's how it was when I played and I would like to know if its changed at all. Whatever bindings were there would not work any differently than RbdPanda explained.
