If you go to:
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\The Crew\
Right click on: PCScalability.xml
Select "Edit"
Just Edit the lines:
DesktopResX="1920" DesktopResY="1080" to DesktopResX="1280" DesktopResY="1024"
and
Width="1920" Height="1080" to Width="1280" Height="1024"
You can also edit the FPS (But this has been unlocked in the options menu in game. Was greyed out in Beta and could be edited in the same way)
FPS="60"
Enjoy!

Why is it lame exactly? Not everyone has a super mega rig or can afford a top of the line monitor. That being said, in fact, I don't like playing at a super high resolution because I have trouble seeing text then. Perhaps if this was 15 years ago when I was in my early 20's sure but now that I'm nearly 40, the eyes don't work so great anymore.
And thanks Liroku I'll check that link out in a bit.
Sorry I just find it strange. I thought everyone these days were using 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio monitors. I mean I sold an old 1440x900 Samsung monitor on Craislist for 40 bucks a few years back. Its not hard to or expensive to be somewhat current with technology; at least within a decade of standards. You have $60 to spend on a brand new release and the hardware to run it but can't grab a cheap second hand widescreen monitor?? Then you are "annoyed" that the game doesn't support your ancient resolution??
P.S. Both my parents are in their mid-60s and wear glasses (my mom is legally blind in the state of Arizona) and they both can use 1080p monitors just fine. The modern OS has this crazy thing called scaling which means you can adjust the size of the icons/text on screen. Bottom line is you need to step it up. Good day sir.
That being said, I do use some of the accessability options in Windows from time to time. Kinda sucks I have to use them at my age, but hey it happens I guess.

Set video mode (I don't know, how is this EXACTLY in English version) not in window, not in fullscreen, but "without edges" or so..
Is there a way to turn some graphics off instead of low?
Or at least turn off the headlights?
The lighting effects make me lag too much to drive at night
mind your own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ business
How do you make steam's font bigger because you're apparently the only person anywhere that knows
Even valve doesn't
Also, 1440x900 actually has less pixels than 1280x1024 (not that big difference though) so enlarging stuff would do more harm than good. And it generally is shiт to work at low-res widescreen (try running NetBeans/Eclipse, or even opening Chrome's Developer Tools docked to the bottom of the screen, and doing some serious work there).
To the topic,
Thanks (díky :D ), this was it. In the English version, it says "borderless": https://youtu.be/Xc6vLx34WX0?t=5s
It uses your current resolution, just fills the screen. I actually find that ingenious, because thanks to it, I don't have to deal with Intel's scaling buIIshiт either :) Also doesn't matter whether I'm connected to bigger external screen, or using the laptop's monitor - it just fills the primary screen without changing settings. That's how it should be in any game!
