Resolution options?
Does anyone know if there is an INI file or some way of setting resolutions other than in game I guess? My monitors max resolution is 1280x1024 but I can't set it any higher than 1280x800 and it's really annoying me.

The game just came out so I've not found anything on any websites yet sadly.

Hi LOC,

If you go to:
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\The Crew\

Right click on: PCScalability.xml
Select "Edit"

Just Edit the lines:

DesktopResX="1920" DesktopResY="1080" to DesktopResX="1280" DesktopResY="1024"

and

Width="1920" Height="1080" to Width="1280" Height="1024"

You can also edit the FPS (But this has been unlocked in the options menu in game. Was greyed out in Beta and could be edited in the same way)

FPS="60"

Enjoy!

Sweet, awesome. Just what I was looking for :) Thanks.

So I've noticed even though I set the options in the ini file, the game is still running in 1280x720 (or 1280x800 for that matter). I wonder if setting the file to read only may help?

I don't think the game supports 4:3 resolutions...does it stretch verically or just place black bars at top and bottom for you? Oh also, you might can use Nvidia or AMD panels to adjust scaling. Leave it at the widescreen res and then stretch the sides outside of the screen with GPU scaling maybe?

Why is it lame exactly? Not everyone has a super mega rig or can afford a top of the line monitor. That being said, in fact, I don't like playing at a super high resolution because I have trouble seeing text then. Perhaps if this was 15 years ago when I was in my early 20's sure but now that I'm nearly 40, the eyes don't work so great anymore.

And thanks Liroku I'll check that link out in a bit.

Sorry I just find it strange. I thought everyone these days were using 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio monitors. I mean I sold an old 1440x900 Samsung monitor on Craislist for 40 bucks a few years back. Its not hard to or expensive to be somewhat current with technology; at least within a decade of standards. You have $60 to spend on a brand new release and the hardware to run it but can't grab a cheap second hand widescreen monitor?? Then you are "annoyed" that the game doesn't support your ancient resolution??

P.S. Both my parents are in their mid-60s and wear glasses (my mom is legally blind in the state of Arizona) and they both can use 1080p monitors just fine. The modern OS has this crazy thing called scaling which means you can adjust the size of the icons/text on screen. Bottom line is you need to step it up. Good day sir.

To be perfectly honest, I have a Steam Press account, so I didn't pay for the game. Still, I did have a 1440 monitor that blew up on me about a year ago. I currently live on SS, so my budget is quite limited and even $40 in a month is quite a bit of change for me to spend. This monitor does me fine at this resolution though.

That being said, I do use some of the accessability options in Windows from time to time. Kinda sucks I have to use them at my age, but hey it happens I guess.

Here is solution. Use Google translate, if you don't speak Russian:

Set video mode (I don't know, how is this EXACTLY in English version) not in window, not in fullscreen, but "without edges" or so..

I have the same problem, it doesn't let me put the resolution lower than 1280x720
Is there a way to turn some graphics off instead of low?
Or at least turn off the headlights?
The lighting effects make me lag too much to drive at night

How do you make steam's font bigger because you're apparently the only person anywhere that knows
Even valve doesn't

Thanks, you spoke my mind :) Also, what H3MPY forgets is that the world isn't just the US – for some people, US$40 may be their whole (or a substantial part of) monthly food budget.

Also, 1440x900 actually has less pixels than 1280x1024 (not that big difference though) so enlarging stuff would do more harm than good. And it generally is shiт to work at low-res widescreen (try running NetBeans/Eclipse, or even opening Chrome's Developer Tools docked to the bottom of the screen, and doing some serious work there).

To the topic,

Thanks (díky :D ), this was it. In the English version, it says "borderless": https://youtu.be/Xc6vLx34WX0?t=5s
It uses your current resolution, just fills the screen. I actually find that ingenious, because thanks to it, I don't have to deal with Intel's scaling buIIshiт either :) Also doesn't matter whether I'm connected to bigger external screen, or using the laptop's monitor - it just fills the primary screen without changing settings. That's how it should be in any game!
