multiplayer?

does the crew only have modes or does it have a free roam where you can drive with other players that arent a crew or something? just curious as it hasnt unlocked for me yet :(

It requires a permanent internet connection, but you can just do stuff by yourself in it, drive by yourself, missions by yourself.

no no i know it needs internet im asking so i know, like when your just cruising around can you just drive with them or whatever? as in are there other people you meet that arent in your crew etc ( thought i explained it pretty well the first time)

A friend sent me a request to join his crew. I accepted but then "Could not join Crew" pops up, tried the other way around and still the same... I'm even driving alone on the streets. Not a soul to be seen, well.. bots somtimes, that's about it. And yes, I have "permanent" internet. Pretty damn annoying.

so essentially them advertising it as a mmo/multiplayer whatever they advertised it as is just a gimmick?

It is multiplayer. It's just something that's not right. You are supposed to see other people driving around (up to 7 people in a session). Don't know if the problem is on our end or theirs.

i cant play as of yet since they are releasing regions, and only 7 people??? really ubisoft its 2014 and you can only put 7 people into 1 server ..................................*facepalm*

You can do whatever you want by yourself. You do not need to play with anyone else. You can cruise, do mission, side missions, and anything else by yourself. You can cruise with other people and not be in a crew or be friends.

Not sure if it's exactly 7 people, but somewhere around there. I bought this game to play online with friends and right now it doesn't seem possible. Not fun driving around all alone, lol

The sessioning is peer to peer. More players would require everyone to have good internet.

There's a central server that controls what session you are in.

It's 7 + you btw, so 8 players per session.

You can come across other people while out driving around by yourself. I definately had many more people than just 7 in my sessions while I played the PC Beta. I don't see why they would even think of reducing it to 7.....

It's just a marketing term. If they didn't advertise it as MMO most 12 year olds woulnd't understand that it's a multiplayer centric online game.

Not saying I agree with it, just giving insight on what I believe the logic behind it is.
