Good controller settings?
I'm using an Xbox 360 controller and I've yet to find good settings for this in which I don't go spinning around all the time. Dirt tracks are espcially bad.

Anyone have suggestions of how to set the game for this controller and before anyone wants to make nasty comments about my driving, please tell me something I don't know. I already know how my driving is so you don't need to comment on it. We all need to play the game how we want to play it.

I'd just like to fix the settings in the game first then work on the driving.

My current settings:

hardcore
steering sensitivity - med
steering linearity - middle
3rd option - all the way to the right

As far as the steering goes, do you do a smooth motion or slam it left/right?

Sport setting = win for you
Smooth steering movements as much as possible, if your a "tapper" try to just nudge the thumbstick smoothly instead of just flicking it everywhere :) Try not to brake as much for steady corners, letting off the throttle gives you pretty effective engine braking in The Crew :D HTH

I'll try the sport setting and see if that helps. I have been trying the other suggestions already but sometime it doesn't seem like they're working. :(

IMO, Hardcore setting should just be used with steering wheel setups. Controllers don't work well with that rapid of a response. Sport is better suited for controllers. Have the rest of the options at default for the time being, then adjust them based on your driving style.

I personally have it at Sport, with everything as default. Suits me fine. I also use smooth movements on the sticks, one should never slam the stick in a direction (unless you're a total noob with Full Assist on). Hell, use the brake while accelerating if you need to (only for corners!). Once you get a rhythm going, you're golden. Bonus points for you if you have your gearbox on Manual.

Other tips:
Release the gas on a jump and hit it when you're about to land
Brake early, low gear, accelerate hard (corners, especially sharp, 90+ degree turns)
Try to hit the apex of a turn (Don't use that driving line! Find your own)
Shortcuts are your friend (this works especially well if you know where a checkpoint is, so you can just cut to it in the longer Faction Races)
NEVER USE HANDBRAKE!

Anyone else can add more tidbits of info, this is just what I've done ingame :p

My advice would be use Sport until you get the hang of it and try not to perform two actions at once, i.e. brake before a corner, then turn, then accelerate out, once you nail this you can start doing two of these things at the same time. (I use a 360 controller with hardcore and otherwise default settings.)

I've been getting better with the steering and gently turning it left and right. The driving lines are somewhat annoying and find myself doing something else that seems more natural.

I have started turning earlier when taking a 90 degree corner and that seems to help the car in being able to make the turn. It also helped on dirt tracks in that the car slid a bit around a corner and then you could straighten and continue on.

As for the cars themselves, I've noticed that specs and parts for the cars matter more than the type of car. American muscle cars still have that butt wiggle that others either slightly have or none at all. I.E. my Mini has a better grip rating than my Nissan hatchback even though they're both perf spec and at the same level. I tend to use the Mini more often because of this.

As for the controller settings, I've settled on sport and settings slightly to the right of center. This seems to work fairly well for right now.
