Not releasing an offline patch to a game with a big single-player experience is very disrespectful to your customers and The Crew owners and fans. Additionally, The Crew was a landmark game in the racing game genre, and rendering it completely unplayable is disrespectful for your own history.

Racing game fans are aware of the eventual removal from sale (delisting) because of expiring licenses not being worth renewing, and while it's sad, it's understandable.

However, rendering a "game with single-player campaign" we own unplayable because of server shutdown is not acceptable. A large number of The Crew owners were expecting an offline patch to be released (something that was actually hinted here and there by developer representatives).

Personally, as someone that still replays old games from time to time (GranTurismo 1-6, Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2, many Need for Speeds, Juiced, Race Driver 1/2/3/Grid, etc.), this is the last chance I give Ubisoft specifically, and "single-player games with always-online requirements" in general...

PS: for those unaware, The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest are not in any way replacements for the original The Crew single-player experience, as they are quite different. In my opinion, a game with "single-player campaign" should always be playable offline, irrespective of anyone's opinion on the quality of the game or parts of it.

This is a problem with all always online games, but the fact developer and publishers just abandon games like this is disgusting! I already hate Ubisoft with a passion, this only further solidifies my intent to never buy one of their games again!

I still Enjoy Asassin's Creed. And these games are offline. But not buying always Online games. No matter what company.

I guess this was my lesson to not trust "always-online" games that shouldn't be "always-online"... I was also planning to buy the last AC, but after this decision, that plan is cancelled until they fix The Crew...
