How to solve the crew's server problem.
1 - launch a 100% offline PATCH.
2 - release a PATCH so players can host servers
3 - remove all music
4 - renew car brand licenses. paying a % for each game copy sold
5 - keep the game in stores

They don't need to remove the music or the branding for people that already bought it because it is no longer for sale. No one else can buy it or download it. They could still release an offline patch though.

yes and I realize the crew 3 and the 8090 TI will be out by then..

2014 is 9 years .. so the crew 2 would be on the chopping block in 2031

4 years after The crew 3 is out.. in 2027

I'd like to think life will have a lot more variety than a 20 year old PC running a 10 year old game..

I like to collect games, I have stuff from Dos all the way up that I play to this day. Your opinion on this matter does not allow me to continue this collection on, as most games will be "online" soon and we will own nothing and be not very happy.

and thats what abandonware and emulation is for .. I'm sure some billionare will buy up various old IP's for their server code and inject it the same in the future like an NES ROM..

Meanwhile an old car game will be greatly surpassed by either better Burnout clones better Car simulation games from AAA and the occasional annoyed Developer from a bygone era wanting to make a difference.

If you said something like Save Jill of the Jungle or Save Commander Keen or Get Fight Night 4 on PC.. Then Sure I'd understand..

But this is just the same as people vouching old Nickelodeon flash games, or Family Guy online or other old server based games that have died.

If you don't like the game you don't have to play it, but for those who might still like it, you should at the very least shut the F up.
Is not about having a somewhat comparable experience on another game that you also have to pay for, is about ownership and software preservation, and there is no argument against that.

The only thing(s) crew 2 does better than crew 1 is engine sounds and custom liveries. Everything else is worse.

TC 1 is better only in police DLC and the entire map, looks more real, the rest is pff..

Surely Ivory Tower could make changes, a developer always looks for the best for their game, but the problem is ubisoft: the publisher, so it's hardly going to happen. They have killed their own games, why wouldn't they do it with another. And maybe even the developers at Ubisoft love their games, there are very good games but the problem must be some guy of marketing that seeks to position other titles or an administrator who believes that keep the server costs too much or lawyer concerned about music royalties, who knows

I have to disagree with this. I heavily disliked my 20-30 hours in the crew 2, I couldn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first one. No story and progression like racing games used to be (only need for speed still does this), it's all "hey you're this super influencer person whatever, go out and race people in cars, bikes, monster trucks, boats, planes.. yeah man!!1"

Just because you don't enjoy retro games doesn't mean that other people can't. I still play NFS Underground and games that are even older which can look and run incredibly well across 3x 4k monitors at a rock solid 60fps.

The Crew isn't even old enough to be considered retro yet and it's becoming unplayable for no reason other than its publisher saying we don't get to play it anymore despite it having a single player campaign that I completed on Xbox without ever needing to interact with another player.

There is no reason to defend this ♥♥♥♥, so if you're gonna be the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that thinks that other people shouldn't be able to choose to play the games they bought then do us all a favour and get off the forums.

This might surprise you, but there are content differences between the two games. I prefer the content in The Crew over the content in The Crew 2. For preservation's sake alone, this game should not be rendered completely unplayable.
