This game has no sense of speed
When 150mph feels like 60 there's a real problem.

Lol what does my internet connection have to do with speed? I'm not lagging. There's no rubberbanding, nothing. The game has no sense of speed. That's all.

Check your framerate with something like Rivatuner. Chances are that the lack of speed is because of the low framerate.

30 fps locked.

Seriously, have you ever played a racing game? It's like people are trying to find excuses for this game's lack of speed.

Speed is always a bit odd. I remember a story from the days of trains that was almost a hundred years old. In the US they upgraded the trains with bigger wheel bases to help with a smoother ride, also, they upped the speed limit of trains from about 45 miles an hour (99kph) to 60 (132kph). However, when passengers expirenced the changes, some said they were being lied to. A number of moments occued were passengers got livid with yelling and rage that they were being lied to. To deal with this, passenger trains started installing speed gauges so they could point at it and say "see?".

The larger wheels gave a smoother ride and so they expirenced less bumps and general shaking. You see this in wheel size easy, get on a skateboard and at 20mph (44kph) you feel like you are going realy fast. Get in a truck with big wheels and 80 (176kph) feels slow.

At one point I watched a vid of someone going cross country with 54 miles (110 kilometers) his speed was all over the place and driving skill sometimes in question got to his destination in about 35 minutes. We do a little math and that makes the average 92 mph (188kph). We look at what the speed indication was saying and it read and average of about 100 mph (220kph).

So, I would say the game is not far off.

One thing I was thinking is that MMOs tend to bloat the spaces you move through, by moving points of referane away, it will feel like you are moving slower.

Edit: Or we could go by a firends story:
"One time I got a firend with allot of money to get me invited to to a high end party. At about 4am he came by to talk and said he was drunk and should not drive his car home, a Ferrari. He asked if I could, I said "no problem". I relised that the area of town I was in had no one on the streets and found something I was truly amazed by, at 120 mph (264 kph) the white lines blur together into a solid line."

So, at 120 miles and hour, do the lines blur into one?

I think I get what he's trying to say. Any of you guys play Grid 2? That game felt fast! Granted, I'm still getting started with the game, and my silky smooth 15fps isn't helping much :whine:
