How to get a PS4 controller to work?

Just got this game a few hours ago on the sale, and trying to play it but it's not accepting any kind of input from my PS4 controller except the touchpad, which it interprets as mouse movement. Normally I use inputmapper which makes the PC think it's a xbox controller and allows the xbox controller drivers to work, and I've never until now encountered a game where this hasn't worked. In this one it doesn't work, whether I use inputmapper or just plug it in raw.

I myself don't know if they are supported. If you have a 360 controller just concentrate on using that. Otherwise the quickest way you will get an answer is to go on The Crew Forum on ubisoft. Or ask Ubisoft themselves.

Well that's the thing, when I use Inputmapper the game think's it's a 360 controller, so with inputmapper anything that supports a 360 controller should support it, which is why I've never before encountered a game where it didn't work.
