I have a rx570 8gb instead of a 7870, using V sync, help to have the game without stuttering.
The in game fps limiter run at 60, and muy display goes to cvt reduce: 59.934 hz
So in fact 59.934 hz is the solution.
The game in full screen will pick the maxed hz your display can set.
I have a custome resolution of 1920x1080 74.973 hz , it will pick it over 60hz and stuttering appear even with vsync on.
I then choose a resolution of 2560x1440 stutterr is out ( 60fps 60hz)
In ames like mirror edge catalyst it's a bit strange, if i can't manage to get 75 fps with vsync off, even with custom 75hz resolution removed.
The game will stutter a lot at 60 hz 60fps v sync. ( 75 gps v sync off no stutter if i reaply vsync
68 fps vsync off, then vsync on again, game stutter.
Every games are different about how micro stutter appear.
BF1 if i don't oc my cpu to 3.9ghz ( i54670k 16 gb ddr3 2400mhz cas 12)
Even if max fps can go over 150 fps, and i use v sync 60hz display
The game stutter to death.
I never saw forums post, articles, engineers, speaking about this strange behaviour.
Enhanced sync in exemple with 500 fps in old games, work nice, no stutter, screen tearing.
Some games 80 fps enhanced sync, no stutter
And one or two 150 fps enhanced sync, stutter.
In all case, Vsync on if computer is able to get stable min fps over 60 or 75 fps, is perfect.
Enhanced sync is not working on every games.
I think Nvidia vsync enhancement where it's disabled if lower than x hz / fps and enabled att monitor rate / fps is maybe a better solution to enhanced sync a bout stuttering, never tryed it, as i have amd card.
I post here, because stuttering is really a strange thing, a dead motherboard will make games stutter, a bad sound driver too.
And other time, it's games engine, that work fluid enough, only if this or that setting is enabled disabled, or vsync on off in some case.
Most people don't see stuttering, see BF5 videos with ray trace on, i see huge stuttering, and other say it's fluid as hell.
I'm happy you fixed your problem :)
