Use the radio and select the outpost option

If your using Keyboard+mouse though: when you enter an area to be made an outpost, select some loot inside of it and press "e" again to bring up the radio, select the outpost option.

At one point, Lily will tell you to set up some outposts. Then, you just find yourself a nice spot (any ressource-post will do like a house or a gunshop), clear it out COMPLETELY (search all the little blue dots and open all ressource containers), then hit the DOWN-arrow on your D-Pad and call it in.

In order to set up a new outpost you have to find one first (you will find it as you go on with the quests and especially when your old outpost doesn't any more space to build in). When you are send to find a new outpost and after you found it, you will have to use your Radio in order to call them up ( it is the down arrow of the XBox 360 controller pad, as for the keyboard I don't know). Bear in mind that you loose points when you use the Radio to call them to come to the new outpost.

Edit: well, it seems that I type slowly as others have already posted. My apologies ^_^'

Thanks for the help guys. :) I'am using the keyboard. Is there any way to upgrade it? Don't get any options to improve the outpost.

In order to upgrade the outpost you need to have survivors inhabit it (the info told me that I need around 8 survivors if I remember correct). Then making a workshop, etc which of course you will need equipment to do so.

Just to inform you, I have only manage to Radio that I have found a new outpost and added an inventory there but haven't manage to find a way to move all the survivors from church to the new outpost. Maybe it is automatic? Anyone who has played the game in XBox can give us a small advice ^_^

Out of interest, (ive only just started playing) do you get to switch "homes"? From the church to somewhere else you find? Only reason im asking is im unlocking "potential new homes" from surveying etc but most are houses or shops, nothing as big and defendable as the church you go to when you meet Lily etc.

It is the Outposts that we all are talking. You unlock them (especially the second after the Church) by doing a quest. There are about 8 Outposts (Bases) that you can use (I checked the wiki for that), I have unlock the second Outpost and I have add there a new Inventory when I Radio back to the Church about it but I haven't found a way how to bring survivers to the new Outpost. I still doing a search on that matter but maybe the Outpost get inhabited automaticaly, I don't know. Only players who are playing the game on XBox can help us out on this.

In my experience, outpost are not much more than little safespots, you get an additional Radio message option to switch homes later for 200 influence as you do your quests and progress further in the Story.

Yes. Lily's brother will bring up the topic in a cutscene eventually and show you an alternative place to live. Once you're down there look for the "Alamo" restaurant in the eastern part of marshall or the trucking warehouse in the western part - These are the two best bases you can get. There are a few others though, like one in the big farm field area in the middle of the map.

Tip: Keep in mind that outposts give you a safe zone around them - You can make a network of outposts (get the mines upgrade for even more range) and end up with an entire zombie free neighborhood with easier quests and looting.

@oni and @[F|H] Mansen, what I do understand is that Outposts is what we call Base isn't it? Then, when can we switch homes if we already have Radio message back to Lily (which if I am not mistaken, it cost around that amount of influence) and prepared an Inventory there? I mean will the survivors walk by themselves or will we take them with a car truck?

Sorry to ask these questions but I couldn't find anything after I run a search at the Undead Lab forum.
