How do I rest?

The girl in the radio keep asking me to rest in the house. I cannot figure out HOW to rest in the house. Is this just talk or am I missing how to rest?

I do realize that I can drink and eat though. But I thought I could sleep, but I don't understand how.

As far as I understood you just need to switch characters, and the tired one will go to sleep (I think).

Yep, switch out from whoever is tired/hurt, and they'll go sleep and heal up over time, you can check how long it'll take by checking out the -20/40/% etc stamina reduction on their page.

you also need enough bed and working infirmary to make it so they actually rest well.

But what if you can't switch because they're on a mission?

i have this problem, maya died and my other fellow companion is on anthibiotics. So i have no one to take my place for a while. i just rescued the guys from next door, they seem willing to join me but i dont find the option to change character.

My understanding is you have to do enough for them to become your friend, then you can switch out character.
