Use -fullscreen for 2560x1440, 3840x2160, all "unsupported" resolutions
2560x1440, 2560x1600, and 3840x2160 work just fine. As do 1600x1200, 1440x900, etc...

Library > State of Decay > right click > Properties > Set Launch Options > "-fullscreen" (no quotes)

It will set the game to use whatever the desktop resolution is set to.

I've tested it at 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 and they are flawless. I've no idea why Undead Labs hasn't promoted this feature and removed fuel from the fire, but whatevs, it works.

21:9 2560x1080 has some minimap wonkiness, but the aim is centered, which wasn't the case in early access, so it's definitely more playable now.

Just tried it works great looks much better at 2560x1440, looked terrible before the fix, thanks.

Works great. This should be stickied and no thanks to the slack devs. The only issue is that at this resolution the textures could really use some work.

Glad it works.

As an update, I tried 2560x1600, 1600x1200 and 1440x900 so this should be the fix for all unsupported resolutions. As long as they are 4:3, 16:9, or 16:10 it should be flawless.

no thanks to the devs? Didn't they make this possible?

If it's thanks for the devs you want, I'd like to thank them for never once mentioning this as a solution, and I'd also like to thank them for insistently repeating that 1440p and all other resolutions not in the menus aren't supported, while never mentioning that this is the workaround.

Satisfied?

When a person has an issue with a product they paid for and the devs know there is a solution, they should should say as much and help thier paying customer out, not leave it to some random poster to figure out how to make things work.

haha, maybe they were trolling you :D

OMG....THANK YOU!!! 2560x1600 here and it looked like crap with the provided resolutions. Now I can finally play at my native res. +1

Bump and pin!
Can always rely on the community to fix what the devs can't/won't. ^^

Thanks for the info, 1440x900 has actually been supported since the second EA patch, but still, I know not all rez's were supported, so thanks.

And please, before you go ranting on the devs, remember, 2 people working on port, and may not exactly know about lauch options in steam, hell, I only use it once in a blue moon and I'm on 7 years or something like that.

Maybe they haven't mentioned it because it is not a sure-fire thing, and it might cause problems for some people. Since heating can already be a problem for some. Imagine the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if they recommend something that breaks GPU's.

And on the subject of thanking devs. Why not thank them for the fun you're having playing their game? You know, the one THEY build, so you can enjoy it? Instead of telling them they're ♥♥♥♥ for not taking care of each and every request out there.

People can an ungrateful bunch.

Edit: I do thank you however, for posting the options for people.

I'm running it on Windows 7, Service Pack 3, and when I right click the State of Decay launch application and select properties there is no option to "run in fullscreen." I have options for 640x480, etc, but not fullscreen mode. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

In steam, right click on State Of Decay, choose properties, click "Set launch options" then add -fullscreen, click ok & then run the game.
