Yes you can have multiple saves. And backups.

Some people dig the perma-death aspect to this game, some don't.

If you don't, you can download the State of Decay Save Manager. It lets you quicksave/quickload (from Main Menu), set autosaves, have multiple saves, restore backups, etc.

(Note: this tool was designed for the original game. You can use it for Breakdown but as those saves are kept in a different location, you have to navigate to that folder every time you start it, which is kind of a pain in the butt. I never tried it with Lifeline. I recommend using this for the original game only)

After you get used to the game mechanisc, you kind of have to make an effort to get killed. :)

So don't.Also he is re-posting this link from an older thread that nobody gave a damn about it.Also we can backup the saving progress easily by going to userdata and while playing just alt+tab to backup alive your game instead of exitting.

no aspect of dying in the game is that hard, once you know how to kill off juggs and ferrals at the locations and missions you need to complete the game. DON'T hang around in game looking for trouble, stay away from fighting it out with zeds just for the hell of it, except, when running them over. Follow this basic outline and dying becomes much harder for the charactors simply coz you ain't risking their lives on missions that are not reqiured to solve the game and side-missions.
