Theoretically yes you would need to build a second workshop but FYI there's also a mod on SoD Nexus that lets you upgrade built-in facilities.

Greetings

Just FYI for those wanting to try the nexus mod mentioned in the above post. Sadly it is only for Breakdown DLC. Does NOT work for base game.:tgrin:

One of the reasons Snyder's is overrated. You never know what work area you gonna get. I take my chances at the fairgrounds so I can always get a machine shop

How is Synders over rated? The work area is always the same, its fully upgraded into a machine shop. Its not some roll of the dice thing.

@OP The one cool thing about Synders machineshop, is that it can build everything a muntions shop can build, if done right. Just build a muntions shop, do the research at the library for the weapons that you want, then after your done researching just get rid of the muntions shop.

That works the same for the Library as well. If you have researched everything at the library, or at least everything you want to, you can get rid of the library and still keep the research benefits. I do it all the time after I've research everything for the Medical, Muntions areas, and after building the greenhouse.

it's random

All potential, fully upgrades facilities are random (except for beds) in breakdown

That's not true either

@Happyscrub

Link your sources. I havent found one place that says that yet. And after level 17 of breakdown, and 8 play throughs on the Vanilla version of the game. I have not once had anything other the a machine shop.

As for the Machineshop building Muntions shop weapons....

Theres a screen shot proving it.

-Edit- Heres the wikia link stating as such as well.

@OP Another good thing about Synders is the Storage area. Snyder Trucking Warehouse, The Alamo and Trumbull County Fairgrounds all come with a built-in Storage. It has capacities and functionalities similar to a Food Storage.

So with the simple storage area, you will be able to use Food Preservation's and Convert food into Bio-deisel.
