Can you ever do anything with junk items other than selling them?

Sometimes i find junk items that are a bit more interesting. If one keeps them, is there ever a chance that they can be useful for anything else other than selling as vendor trash?

Not if the item is labeled as junk, but there a few items you can give to other people in the game for xp or cash that you wouldn't normally keep otherwise. Pain pills and feces come to mind.

Rabbit's Foot (1) - this is actually a trinket, not junk and not the real foot of a rabbit

There are roaches in the game? How bad do they look.. I have a pretty terrible phobia. Thanks.
