AI Limit

AI Limit

The "WatchTower" is the worst level in all of souls titles.
Remember some Darksouls 2 levels? just think of something far more annoying lol. long, tedious, baiting, and generally hard af. The level itself is your enemy and you gota bunker down for a grind if you haven't completely mastered the game by this point.
Going in my 'worst level of all time' scrap book.
Was otherwise enjoying this game.

I won't say it's the worst level of all time, but it sure as ♥♥♥♥ is one of, if not, the worst in the whole game. I love doing platforming and dealing with some fairly difficult enemies while being pinned down by those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ eyes.
But Dark Souls 2 best souls ever... Oh, I get it. It was a compliment to the AI.

Shrine of Amana is far ahead anything AI Limit can throw at you. Not even a question.
I don't think it's a big deal. It will help you slow down a bit while you think you're taking a walk in the park lol.

Makes it satisfying turning off the eyes
This entire game screams "I copy your homework without even remotely understanding any of it."

What's frustrating is that it's a good game mangled by a really terrible understanding of soulslikes. Like, 99% of the weapons are STR or at the very best quality, even ones that would have been a perfect opportunity to make TECH like the scythes.

The game also suffers from really terrible attack pattern pacing where enemies will cook a full course meal right before landing a blow, letting you waste 10 doges and parries, then immediately chain attack 100 times in a row at mach speed.

It's fine for enemies you want to have really uncanny movements for, like floating enemies with alien body structure (i.e. SOME necros), but not for like 99% of the enemies in the game.

But in the end, most bosses are a joke because once you even remotely memorize their attacks you can just parry them to death.

Just a crazy balance, but I still overall like the game and would like to see more. Hopefully their next game is a HUGE refinement though.
you can turn the eyes off. look for other doors on the central tower and think about the crystal caves from dark souls 1. not to invalidate your frustrations but it's uncommon for a soulslike to have an environmental hazard you can't turn off in some way. burn the windmill, slay the hellkite dragon, parry the winter lantern. i hope this helps you keep playing.

I had missed this bridge. Leads to a a VERY convenient function and a lot of awesome loot and upgrades. Also to an area i had been wondering about a couple of zones ago.
Would have liked to discover this on my own, But this works too, i pieced it together. Shudder to think on how much else i might have missed.

It also seems that you can skip most of the level. There's a spot near the beginning were you can backstep off(with enough health) and practically be at the boss arena. Very neat.
The level design in this game is so good, man! I am liking it so much ^^ Also, after disabling the watcher eyes, you can safely explore a place in this level and find a very ecchi armor.

You can also walk off the edge normally and do a plunge attack. Leads to the same result and might be a bit easier to perform. And yeah, I love that shortcut during later runs.

It wasn't too bad imo. The eyes were annoying, but you don't deal with them for too long.
I didn't understand if it's boring because it made you difficult or you find it boring because it was too easy.
In the second case, yes, it is actually quite easy, but I didn't find it boring.
Nothing hard here, lol. If you rush through to boss, as I did in NG+, it is super easy and straight forward.
There are few tricky parts, if you want to explore it 100%, though.
You are probably never was at Code Vein's Cathedral.
