Red Talons Coming To Game?
So, during my play time yesterday, I was doing some rounds among the spirits to see if there were any new gifts to acquire, and I happened to find one spirit who states that it bestows their gifts to Red Talons, along with another option. I don't remember if it was a different tribe, or a particular auspice (Ahroun, I think?)

Anyways, the last time I checked, the Red Talons were not presently in the game as a playable option. If they were added as part of a free patch, I would have missed it, as I'm still working on my first playthrough. I also don't see them listed with either of the two DLC.

So, does this mean we can expect at least one more DLC in the future? One that will add the tribe of radical, Garou extremists to the list of playable options?

Because I'd really like to play a tribe who favors the Humans Must Pay ethic, since none of the currently playable tribes seem to value it.

it wasnt as good a PoK

I agree, Parliament of Knives let me be a callous monster, devoid of empathy for these worthless mortals.

Also, PoK let me join the Sabbat, who are objectively the best faction in vampire society.

Well, here's the proof. Whippoorwhill only bestows their gift to Wolf Born Galliards, which are not a playable option in game right now. Meaning that this spirit is impossible to learn from!

I dont know about the wolf born as dlc. hed have to rewrite the entire game to fit a very different pov. silent striders and red talons for sure, but a wolf born? to much effort and i dont think the writer could pull it off convincingly. the Malk (PoK) was great, but still had a normal thought process just a few additions, a wolf born would be totally bat chit with all of those internal rationalization the mc does at every choice.

Playing a Red Talon without being Lupus Born feels blasphemous. I know they loosened their restriction on Homids for 5th edition, but they still want to bust humanity back to the neolithic era of development.

You would need some extremely skilled writing to pull off a Homid born wanting to join them, after growing up in human society.

-----------------------

Besides, Whippoorwhill is actually the second instance I found of the game mentioning that a spirit offers its gifts to Lupus Born Garou (I didn't think to take a screenshot at the time), which enforces my belief they'll be getting added.

------------------------

Not every Malkavian is a gibbering lunatic like Dev/Null, or the protagonist from Bloodlines. Their insanity can take many different forms. In the case of PoK, your madness takes the form of an imaginary friend.

i know, and it was really well done. a wolf born would be harder i think, and ive my doubts about the authors ability to write it. or a homid red talon as you say. yeah, i think there were three gifts counting father bear that had lupus as a pre req. you can still get them based on tribe or auspice, but wolf born was a factor.

of course we dont know if lupus born will come. the other 2 tribes seam to be a given and thats all of them minus BSD and GoF, witch will never happen here. there just might be gifts requiring lupus born as fluff, because other than whippoorwhill the rest can be attained through auspice or tribe.

If I understand correctly, the writer for PoK also wrote the Werewolves series, of which I own all 3 current games, with a 4th one supposedly in the works to finish off the story.

Which, after seeing their writing style in Werewolves, made a lot more sense as to why PoK allowed you to be a callous monster, and even go so far as to join the Sabbat. An option which I feared would never be available in 5th edition again, because the developers seem to want to obnoxiously focus on keeping in touch with your Humanity.

Get of Fenris might not be possible, but I'm not entirely convinced that BSD's will be off the table. Peeking through the achievements section, it seems like it's actually possible to join the Answering Tiger somehow, and I'm also seeing a lot of dialogue options in game that focuses on trying to research Eater of Names' immortality, and try to replicate the effects for your own benefit.

Both of which are obvious paths that could lead a young Garou into serving the Wyrm. Though I would imagine they might be a late game option we could defect to, rather than something we choose at the beginning.

That kinda tracks, one of the endings in night road had you joining the SI. I only did it to kill Sim, and it was worth it. Shame that was the only way to do it.

WHY would any non-Thinblood even consider doing something that foolish!?

it was the only way to kill jullian sim, again worth it. I just head cannoned that I went back to my regular 1 humanity self pack my bags and went on to better and darker things. I played as CoD.

It should be soon. The next DLC is finished and is on beta.

I am going to be very surprised if the Red Talons don't have the Humans Must Pay conviction. None of the playable tribes have it right now, which makes it's presence on the character sheet seem useless.

humans must pay would be a first, and rage is our weapon would be a second (black fury). itd be nice to devolve into a monster. the pack that is given, is way to human centeric. hopefully the Red Talons will let the pc just kill people because they are people. not because of theyre skin tone, economic background, or political ideology. just because they are people, and that they are there.

Agreed. Even though we have a Lupus Born in the pack, she's still far too attached to humanity and its values.

Even though, lore as written, Lupus are supposed to have a fundamentally different perspective of the world, due to how they were raised.
