Is there (companion) smut in this game?

I've finished the game once already, romanced Podge, but the game never really went further than some cuddling and a few kisses. Which is weird, because the Butterfly gift gives you the chance to hook up with a total rando.

So, does this game have sex? Did I just choose the wrong dialogue choices or do I need highter approval from characters I'm trying to romance?

i had a few close encounters & went full in once (technically 2 times during the same event)

so yes, it's possible. i can give the major parameters of which path i took if you can't be bothered to try every iteration. it wasn't very explicit if that's what you expect you'll be let down.

if you completed the game most of these should be familiar enough to follow my path & vague enough to not spoil to much.

played with gamemaster on & played the pen & paper version for 4 years late 90's, basebook with the cut out cover. we had most of the wod books in our group (even have a guide to the fomori book here) so came in with a bunch of lore, still mostly relevant in this iteration.


played as female, philodox, primary choice shadow lord, secondary glasswalker, took long but also joined shadow lords (due to shadow lord totem's penalty when fail certain tests might not be a bad idea to wait for joining)
put almost everything i could in cha, man & int, followed by res & con. also went hard on social & tech for skills. think i finished with str/dex/sta as 1/1/2 , 0 points in combat, aim & such.
had heaps of wisdom, a lot of honor & earned 7 glory of the entire game.
always took options to explore & investigate, seldom combat, also guessed which choices where least likely to advance the plot & took those.

my choice was nomi, but didn't rush it, prefering to flirt. she did end up in the hospital since she was left in a certain prison a bit to long - i funded her hospital bills. also got infected, did not cure her first but second.
had full werewolf pack ( including the glasswalker which i was very trusting off, even with all the evidence i had hope - and showed mercy - and let her slowly prove herself) but almost never let them scare her of, but also tried to not tag her along all the time.
had relationscore of at least 3 but most of the time 4 with her.

the event you're looking for will happen after a concert, i think the one just before the concert where you start the final part of the game.

the only time i accidentally doubleclicked was when she was first shown so was confused for a long time we they called her "they/them".

unrelated: why isn't there a mention of the ratkin, the are supposed to be the cleanup crew when things are as bad as they are in this game. even plot armor is failing at times :)

Let me just state it clearly. Every love interest has at least two possible sex scenes. They are not in depth, but they are treated seriously.

When these can happen may vary, but basically whenever you have a chance to hang out with a specific character and there is an option to flirt, you simply have to keep flirting. Having a positive relationship score obviously matters in whether you start a romance.

I romanced Nin and it's really as easy as going on a date with her and being a bit horny. That being said, Nin is very open to sex in general as is even often mentioned in general descriptions after you start romancing her, so some other characters may take more convincing (I don't think Podge would hesitate though).

In case this is the same pattern for everyone here is how it worked with Nin:
1. First sex scene during a date with said character. Gotta pick flirting option and then say you want to have sex.
2. Second sex scene is during specifically the chapter where you deal with the Teufelshand (the alien wasp thing). During a meeting with your pack you get a moment to relax and you can flirt with Nin and convince her to have sex in the side-closet. Pretty weird timing, but it's an option.

Did you actually have sex scenes with Podge at those instances? Because for me, I did get them with all the other characters, but not him

I did not romance Podge, so I can't say. That's why I said it may differ.

Two sex scenes with Elton were the same sex scene with some variable text depending on the backstage/closet location. Romancing Nin twice, she talked about regulating her hormones in wolf form instead of having sex in closet, although at devoted level.

Night Road's romances were a bit off as well, with an in-depth sex scene for Elena, while Raul and Vani romances followed the same outline before cutting off. The romantic scenes we do have are very well written, but it seems as if such sprawling games had too many subplots for the author to attend to all of them. Hungry Names' romances are more complete; a conclusion to Nomi's romance is conspicuously absent, but promised in DLC.

EDIT: No sex in Podge romance playthrough, with a grouchy CHA1 Ahroun. Sex scenes may be dependent on appealing convictions and stats (COM rather than CHA for NIN).

Regarding the last part: I had a run with an MC who had five dots in charisma, a mostly full "Our weapon is Rage" conviction (varied between 2-3 dots), and completely devoted affection (which seeems to be the highest lvl) on my Podge run, and nothing explicit is confirmed or even implied (besides a frenzied make-out session in Ch. 9, which might just be something more if you squint at it long enough, but eh). This is funny, because the narrative itself seems to remind you from time to time how much of tension there is between you two.

Also interesting that if you look at your saved games for a given run, there seem to be flags/atudes/flags or whatever you want to call them for all the ROs for sex. And they are all the same (one exception for Elton, but that's not related to smut). So the game tracks this stuff for everyone, it just seems there's no way to trigger it. Or at least there's no way we currently know of. Or a leftover piece of scripting. Might be even buggy or featured later (though that's less likely).

I ran on different playthroughs with romancing Podge and I got both kissing and sex scenes. Although I DID have a high COM (3 to 4 dots, tribe-wise + some training), dunno, maybe it does have to do w- that. Or w- convictions (I've had Humans Must Understand and We Can Still Win maxed, the optimist :D)? You'd still have to be on good terms for him to even accept you flirting w- him (there was a time when he just ignored me on 3 dots of relsh'ps (somehow) and yes, I do mean that shirt. Also side note - if you check the save game data, the max relationship values seem to be 75 instead of a 100).

It seems you can miss out on the action if your romance level is already high when coming to the scenes where sex finally can happen?

I tried every opportunity I got (the community supper date and the blocked dream date with cheese and raccoons) before getting to the scenes where sex actually can happen, so my romance level was high, also had high CHA and high relationship status with Podge, and mostly same convictions. Still, no sex options. Can you be too eager for Podge..? :'D

Had high COM and had these two convictions, too, still no dice. As far as I'm concerned, tribe/auspice choices should not have any effect, but it just might something obscure like that. I checked my savegame back then and the relationship numbers were between 80 and 90-something by the endgame, so that seems to be fixed. Still no luck, though. Which is annoying, because the friendly neighborhood ecoterrorist has grown on me immensely, and he's the only one who trips me up like this. x')

My MC's in the same shoes: squeezed out as many brownie points as I can (in preparation for some drops he'll have when I don't want to kick down doors and start shooting before asking questions), having a matching main conviction, high CHA. Taken each date option, too (as much as to see content related to him than just being clingy). I already hit the four dot mark by the supper date.

I hope someone will crack this code one day (or it gets fixed, if it's a bug).

She's a member of the Children of Gaia, not a Silver Fang. Melodie is a Silver Fang.

What's the Blocked dream date with Podge?
