The shakes
Can anyone please help me with something that occasionally happens in TS2015, which I call "the shakes". I give it this name because I am driving along and I suddenly notice that all the cab is shaking slightly. Then when I look at the instruments, the lighting is flashing in and out. The next thing that happens is that none of the controls in the cab work when used directly. Then none of the keys on the keyboard work. After this some of the controls on the HUD start not to function. Some things on the HUD work such as the throttle and brake but most of the others do not. If you come across an AWS warning then it is game over because there is no way of cancelling it either in the cab, with "Q" on the keyboard or on the HUD.

The problem does not go away if you continue so it means the end of the game you are currently in. If you stop the train, then go to Save and Quit, on reload the problem has usually ( but not always) disappeared until the next time. There is no obvious reason for the problem to happen at any one time. It can also happen on any route with any train.

Has anyone else come across this and do you have any comments?

Not happened to me .. however a word of warning about fixing things using save and then resume, you are likely to break other things such as the AI in the scenario ... saving and resuming is like trying to fix your TV with a sledgehammer.

As is so often the case now, the OP supplies us with no information about the hardware set-up involved. As a bit of a guess I would say this could be a memory problem - i.e. it's somehow getting full up?|

It's always a good idea to supply as much information as possible to give people a better chance of comming up with possible solutions.

Tell us:

What CPU / Speed? What RAM ammount? What GPU & VRAM? Are drivers up to date? What OS? Do you have other programmes running - in the background maybe? Does the same problem ever happen on other programmes? Does the problem happen in all scenarios or just the same one? ETC etc.

I've noticed on WCML-North that my locos can violently shake from side to side randomly when at speed, I don't lose control and I always put it down to wind simulation.

I notice that too on WCML-North, but frankly, I couldn't care less, as I am not looking for perfection.

Same thing on WCML - Over Shap. It can be seen in any view but the most noticeable is in cab. However the train is at all time under the control - HUD and cab switches are working properly. As for me, this is not the wind, but rather the poor state of the tracks ;)

this happened to me recently. cab shaking, lost horn and bell sounds, no wiper movement, still had engine idle sound but pitch wouldn't change if you throttle up/down. All controls like throttle/reverser/brakes still function. Was on Ohio Steel 2 scenario #9. Playing on a laptop that falls within posted system requirements. Curious what kind of rig OP was using.

jonnie2bad: I have experienced the exact same thing, on many routes/scenarios. It seems to be happening more and more frequently.

My computer is as follows:-
Processor:Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-2500k CPU 3,30 GHZ
Installed memory: 8.00 GB of RAM
System type: 64 bit operating system.
Graphics card: NVIDIA GT550Ti
Operating system: Window 7 Home Premium, Service pack 1

I would have thought that this would cope easily with TS2015 but would welcome comments if you think otherwise. The "shakes" can happen at any time anywhere in the game on any route.

So your setup seems to be much better than mine and happens to you also. Im on just a mid-range laptop thats about 3yrs old. Sounds like its not hardware related to my uneducated brain.
