Missing Rolling Stock in Scenario
I have a new scenario and own the principal rolling stock. When I open the scenario some minor AI freight cars are missing but I bypass that problem with Control Q. When the scenario opens I have empty track and no rolling stock; as I said, I own the train that should appear. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It would be more helpful if you give a clearer discription of what Scenario , what Loco , you are talking about, and what menu you are in , Career ,Standard etc; or are you in a Workshop scenario? and what rolling stock are you missing? You have left it to general and we have to guess.

The Standard Scenario is Oldtimerzug nach St. Rudolf (new, on railsim.de), the route is IKB3 (Im Köblitzer Bergland) and the rolling stock is vR (Virtual Railroads) BR118 Blue plus vR Silberlinge. This happens on other scenarios as well. It seems something is missing. I assumed it was the main train components but in tis case I believe I have the whole train composition in inventory. Thanks for the reply.

In that case I would check on the on the site where you download it, sounds like something is missing . Have you open all the files and unpacked, and checked the manual / instructions.

Yes, I've done this many, many times through railsim.de. I've posted the question there as well (,,Ich besitze die vRBR118(blau) und auch die vR Silberlinge. Am Startpage des Szenarios gibt es nur leere Gleise: kein 118. Was fehlt? Wie kann ich das korrigieren?"). There is no manual, just a list of required assets (which I have). What I'm really looking for is someone who knows enough about scenario design to pinpoint the problem. Thanks again.

There are at least two different versions of this asset alone, as version sold through Steam differs from the version sold through vr.de (not to mention the old pre-TSX GR version of the same, from which these two versions evolved).

On the other hand, swapping them via RWTools should be rather trouble free, as they are interchangeable.

Thanks for the comment. I've encountered this problem before and have both versions of the BR118, and certainly the vR version. The missing rolling stock seems to suggest I don't have the right locomotive but I know I do and there is a picture of it before I open the scenario. I'm puzzled by this one. One possible problem: I purchased the VR BR118 (blue) separately and the Silberlinge with the vR BR118 green. Hard to believe, but is the scenario looking for the bundle and not the individual pieces, assuming the bundle has a unique ID (or QD consists)? If so, I'd probabl buy the bundle, but I would hate to do that and have the scenario fail.

I should learn how to swap rolling stock; any suggestions on how to learn how to do this? Thanks again.

You might have encountered the old GR version... which was also on Steam for some time (a long, long time ago).

To my best knowledge, vr.de issues their rolling stock always into the same locations, therefore, the fact, that you bought Silberlinge with other loco should not make any difference,

However... there are several revisions of the vr.de rolling stock itself and it is also possible, that you are victim of a mistake on the part of the scenario creator (someone may be mixed up vr.de version with the Steam version?).

RW Tools is the best for that , and there are detailed "How To " on Mikes website. Just google RW Tools.
Also General Wo has a quick guide :-

Felix, thank you for the reply. Since I have the old Steam version as well as the new vR version (6 months old), the only possibility seems to be that the scenario has a different version from vR, perhaps older.

Jim, thank you for the tutorial. I'll check it out and see if I can swap my way to success. BR118 scenarios are few and far between, so it's worth the effort

Could you please post a screenshot of said error message?

Also, post TS2013 release, vr.de did a lot of changes with their rolling stock, as they could no longer rely on the old default Kuju core assets.

Felix,

There is no error message, just deserted tracks when the scenario appears. I tried the General Wo swapping and there was nothing to swap: the right rolling stock was already there and recognized in the scenario editor, but it never appears when the game starts. I wonder if there is a problem with the route, IKB3, like needing an update?

Interesting... if you check the map (9 key), is the train present?
Tsitsho (fox) Apr 14, 2015 @ 2:19pm
There is no train present, just some blue AI(KI) trains waiting to start. I didn't know you could access the map that way, .Thanks again.

This is really weird. What scenario is that?
