Have you put the right API key in? (I believe it's a Server key rather than a Browser key)

Some people also have trouble due to the font style that Google uses when you get your key, Doesn't help either that TS2015 won't let you paste the key directly into the game settings.

Copy your key and paste it in a word program like Notepad and change the font style to something you can proof read easier (It's easy it to confuse capital i's for lower case L's) so you can see it you have put the right key in.

Once you have it write it down on a piece of paper then type it in the game settings (Be carefully to proof read this when typing to be on the safe side).

This should work and get you going in the right direction, Especially if you add DEM satellite data in afterwards.

That's great advice by SeriousGerbil; it has been the solution for many people having exactly the same problem, myself included! Hope it works for you also Good luck.

I did not work for me.

There are some parts of the world not covered by the Google overlay. Unfortunately I don't know which parts and neither do I know where to find out (can't even remember where I read about it!) Maybe if you create a completely new route using a different location (far from the one you try now) and then try Google overlay and see what happens. It only takes a couple of minutes to set one up.

OR it could be that perhaps your internet connection is too slow, or just having a bad day?

OR while the blue circles are spinning, try moving to a different area and see what happens.

I think my Internet connection is to slow. I tryed moving, and I know there is Google Maps Overlay in the place I am building. Its a really large city/industrail port serounded by deep river canyons and butiful prairies, hence the name "Camas Prairie Railroad". Thanks for you help, I will continue trying until it works.

I figered it out... You HAVE to use your ORIGANAL Google acount, get your server API (not browser) , and copy it were it belongs.

Same problem here too. Google shows a lot of Google Maps API's. Which API is the right API? I found these API's:

Google Maps Android API
Google Maps SDK for iOS
Google Maps JavaScript API
Google Places API for Android
Google Places API for iOS
Google Maps Roads API
Google Static Maps API
Google Street View Image API
Google Maps Embed API
Google Places API Web Service
Google Maps Geocoding API
Google Maps Directions API
Google Maps Distance Matrix API
Google Maps Geolocation API
Google Maps Elevation API
Google Maps Time Zone API

I was enable this api and create the server key. But it not work.
This api usage shows "Client errors (4xx) 113 " What is the error? TS2016 shows only, the blue circles rotating.

SOLUTION: key must be browser key.

It works.
