Corrupted DLC
I have corrupted the DLC route WCML South in TS2021 a week ago, no idea how to fix it. I have recorded a video of what the route now looks like when I load the route. Here is how it looks now: https://youtu.be/yQcHh0T93Qk

I'm not sure how to fix this.

Select TS in your library list on Steam then scroll down the page to find "Manage my DLC".
Click that and on next page type WCML South in top search box.
On next page untick the Installed box. Wait 30 seconds then close and reopen Steam.
Go to manage DLC again and retick that box. Then watch the "Downloads" at the bottom of Steam page. Do nothing on your PC until its done.
This will install a fresh copy of the route without affecting anything else.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, sadly it did not work, and the route is still as broken.

Try this then > Along the top of the Steam page, there is a 'LIBRARY' tab - click it and then select 'GAMES'. RIGHT click on Train Simulator and from the drop down list select 'PROPERTIES' (it's at the bottom of the list). A new window will open. From the different tabs along the top select 'LOCAL FILES'. At the bottom of the list that appears, select 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE'. Now go and make a cup of coffee and sit back and relax while it does it's job. How long it takes depends on several factors like your internet speed, size of your RailWorks folder, even the time of day. Be prepared for it to take some time. It will check all files and replace missing or damaged ones.

One other thing you could try also.
At TS main menu, go to "Settings, Graphics, Advanced" and make sure Scenery Quality, Scenery density and View Distance are all set to max; i.e fully right.

Hi,

My graphics settings are set to work for my PC on most of my routes.

I do not believe the graphics settings are the problem though as the map shows it with problems aswell.

Hello again. As already explained, your PC has very limited graphics performance, which will result in some objects and parts of your routes missing as your very old GPU/CPU struggles to render them.
This frustrating problem won't go away, there is no magic fix. Your only long term option is a new or secondhand more powerful gaming PC.
Best.

OP's graphics settings or mediocre GPU won't have removed sections of track from a route that was (it is implied) working before.

If the file verify doesn't do the trick I'd suggest reinstalling as advised by pjohnandlyns but with an extra step- identify the route's folder in your Railworks directory then, once you have uninstalled the route in Steam Library, delete any remaining trace of it in Windows before you start the reinstall.

Uninstalling doesn't necessarily remove everything and the bit that's left might be the problem.

I thought this may have been a problem but I was unsure which file it would be.

Not having the route I wouldn't know but I guess you could go through the uninstall process then look for the folder that has just been modified.

With respect again, a far more modern and powerful GPU/CPU PC is your only long term solution for the frustrating problems you have.
There is no magic fix.
Best.

I know, I am planning on upgrading my Motherboard, GPU and CPU, however that won't make the track suddenly reappear.

I could, I might just have a look in the route/scenario builder as I believe that will say the file name for the route.

It did show the file location, and it only deleted one of the files, tracks.bin wasn't removed when I reinstalled. Thanks a lot. Also know what I did wrong to break the route and know how not to do what I was this time.

Hello again. There is no magic fix, you simply don't have a PC anywhere near minimum spec to run TS2022 without graphics processing problems. Your present PC would need stripping out completely to replace the Motherboard, GPU, CPU, Memory, Power Supply and possibly HD's.
Not worth it, just buy a secondhand or new far more modern and powerful gaming PC.
Best.

Hello again,

The items I am considering buying reach the minimum requirements at a somewhat manageable price of about £300 2nd hand for the items. My PC runs the game okay currently with my specs unless there is a lot of locos around the player.
