Coupling 2 consists in a scenario?
Hi, im working on a scenario on the fort william to helensburgh line based on real life services. In real life, the train from oban comes in and stops at crianlarich, then the train from fort william arrives and couples to the back of it and they continue down the line together. the player is driving the fort william service. how would i be able to recreate this action is the editor? im still quite new to scenario making.

Simple and dirty solution: Service 1 (Oban - Crianlarich) as static consist at Crianlarich platform then Service 2 (Ft. William - Mallaig(?) stops at Crianlarich Platform -- add a stopping point short distance behind Service 1. Then couple both consists together, make Service 2 cab ready to be in tow, then change cabs to front cab of Service 1, board passengers and continue your journey.

This is called permissive block working, where 2 different trains are allowed into a signal block at the same time. As far as I know, the A.I. in TS does not normally allow this - it will cause a SPAD (SignalPassedAtDanger) and end the game (although I have not tried the method mentioned above). Luckily I have the perfect answer - for the route that I am building anyway - in the form of a signal set from Just Trains. You do have to make a route purchase to get them though (Newcastle-Edinburgh). There is a set of special tools supplied with them specifically to allow permissive block workings. There are also other tools for Yard links & Theatre links etc etc. Unfortunately, I do not know if those tools will work in routes that do not use JTs own signals, although I can't see any reason why not.

This forum page is an excellent guide to using those signals, and you may also find some useful info' there to help you out - there are quite a few good youtube vids to watch as well. http://www.trainsimdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=90&sid=a70ffe2c7a1aa498db2bb35e3983069a
