Not a word from the place I bought the card from of course. They've got £600 in the bank so they're hardly going to be interested now.
Best.
Thanks to both for taking the time to look into things for me. Much appreciated...
I still don't know if it's the card or the motherboard or both but I can't even get it to work properly with my old graphics cards now. At present the whole lot is fit for the bin.
I only bought the 1080 card for TSW, wish I hadn't bothered. Can't even play TS2017 now let alone TSW.
Sometime over the next couple of months, I plan on doing a complete new build from the ground up. I will try to avoid 'boards with integrated audio (if such a beast exists!) as even they have caused me nothing but problems in the past. Currently using an Asus M5A97 EVO R2. The onboard sound worked fine for about 2 weeks. It has never worked since, yet often causes conflicts with my PCI Soundblaster card. I see no reason why similar problems could not occuur with onboard graphics as well. Maybe I'm just an old cynic. Trust no-one (or no-THING).
I need to do some more reading as I thought the card was capable of running a maximum of 4 monitors but I can only get 3. Unplug one and another comes back. 3 is better than one in low res though and I am smiling again.
Now do I tempt fate and see about getting Windows 10 back somehow or do I be pleased with what I've got and stick with Window 7 lol. I own Windows 7 so can install it from the DVD when ever it goes wrong. Windows 10 is an unknown as never owned the software on DVD, But I am already missing the Windows 10 UI.
Keep things simple until the problem is found.
I would strongly suggest taking out your new card first and checking your motherboard slot is clean along with the cards conector, also check your memory modules, you might have dislodged one when installing your 1080.
Did you check your motherboard support site for any BIOS updates that might be needed to support win10 or new GPU's?
Don't use the GPU drivers that came with it, they may well be out of date. Use the Nvidia support page to get your correct most up to date driver.
I doubt your new 1080 is to blame directly, more something has changed on your PC that it can't handle.
Best.
