Game problem
Hi,
I have just tried to set up several scenarios. The simplest one being a straight piece of track, two platforms. All is good until I try to select any kind of passenger train and then I get track errors. Freight and special work ok. Have reinstalled dlc and done a file check that has stated, more than once, that a file will be acquired, Not sure if it has. Anybody any ideas, what am I missing?

Sounds to me like you are a bit of a newbie at this kind of thing? First point; there are 'Routes' and there are 'Scenarios'. The straight piece of track and 2 platforms that you mention are a 'Route'. The train(s) that you place in the route, and give a destination to, are called 'Scenarios'. With that out of the way, lets see if we can fix your problem. The 'ANY KIND of passenger train' must match the track it is on - electrified or not. If you are trying to use an electrically operated train on non-electrified track, it won't work! To check your track, enter the world editor. Select the 'Linear Object Tools' (looks like a section of track icon), then the 'Select' icon (yellow dashed outline of a box) and draw out a section of the track. The panel that opens on the right of the screen will give you track details - select either overhead or third rail for the entire length of track. You need not worry about laying a third rail or overhead equipment as they are only cosmetics, and do not affect the track itself. You can also check that the track direction is correct by pressing the spacebar twice - blue will be bi-directional. Press spacebar another 7 times to return to normal.

Further point - do not worry that file verify acquires one file, it almost always renews one file, that is normal (I can't remember what the file is)

Thanks Glenn. I do know the difference between routes and scenarios. So to clarify. I made a route approx 200m long and marked two platforms. I then tried to create a scenario by placing an intercity diesel train on the track and using timetable tried to get it to go from one platform to the other, as a player train. I am using uk track new concrete. The track is bi directional but I am still getting track errors. Thanks for your quick reply. If you've got any more tips on this problem I would much appreciate it.
