It's not tested in XP anymore but some people still play it in XP. You will have to turn down the graphics settings from the default and may have more performance issue than you rememver - at least that is what seems to be the case from reports on this forum.

Someone I heard of running XP run their games through a virtual machine, might be worth looking into that if its unplayable.

Microsoft got so much pressure from the XP O/S that they will extend their committment for XP for seven more years, breathe easy, but save for Win 7 or 8.1.

Based on what I've seen with Windows 7 or 8, I still think XP is the best OS in the Windows lineup (I've had the XP since Dell first approved it for their machines, and I'm on my 3rd machine since). I'm running XP Pro on a pretty modest machine and the problems I'm having with TS seem to be pretty common across the board, according to comments on here. I'm waiting for Windows 9, I hear it has the potential to be a real bang-up OS.

There will be no windows 9 -- the next one will be a 10. Was in the news or somewhere the other day.

Why do people still bother running Windows XP when it is outdated and slow compared to it's successors these days?
I could understand it if people need it for some very special discontinued bussiness software, but for games....

@nimcm: XP is death, MS does not support it anymore, good attampt at trolling though.

Windows 10 technical preview has been available for quite some time now.

Some people claim it runs better than 8.1, didn't test it myself yet thou.
