Bristol - Exeter route from Just Trains.
I purchased this route just short off 3 years ago. Since then I have hardly play TS. So a few days ago I started TS up again and it updated to the 2015 version. I then reinstalled the Bristol - Exeter route from the .exe file I had downloaded from Just Trains.

Now for the problem the route is installed and I can drive the senario's and everything is fine but the route is not showing in my Steam library and when I look at the list of add-ons it says I do not have the route yet I purchased it direct from Just Trains. Is there any way I can get it to show in my library?

Did you take a look at Drive\Standard\Routes? If it is still not showing then try the Tools\verify the game cache. If that fail go to Properties and verify the Integrity of the game cache. I hope one of those options will help. Roland.

No I'm afraid it won't show because you purchased it directly from Just Trains. Unfortunately no 3rd party content (whether routes or locos) for the game purchased outside Steam will show in the game Collections. There is literally no way you can get it to show in your Collections Library, save by the Steam version of the same DLC (the route is one of the few JT offerings sold through Steam). This is one of the aspects of the game that is very much biased towards RSC/DTG.

Not what you want to hear, but I hope it at least reassures you there's nothing wrong with your route or game. As long as the route & scenarios are showing in the Drive section of the game (which it sounds like they are), and you can play them that's as good as you can expect.

Thanks Growler for the full explanation. As you say it works so that is the main thing.

thats not quite true anymore, the most recent update allows 3rd party content to show in the Collections menus like DTG products. The product itself wont show as purchased on steam because you didnt buy it from steam. thats all

I think there's perhaps a misundertanding here Ben. Yes 3rd party content (purchased outside of Steam) will fully display under the Drive section of the game. It won't, however, under your Collections within Player Profile i.e "Routes" or "Locos" tabs within Player Profile.

Whilst all the Steam (vast majority being RSC/DTG) add-on will display under Routes and Locos (your game Collections), 3rd party content purchased outside Steam won't. I should know I have probably 20+ routes and 40+ locos that come within that category and none of them display in the Collections, despite running the latest version v51.2a (with the latest recent beta fix incorporated). That's the way it's been since TS2014 and I'm sure that's the way it will remain.

The only problem is that you can't run Workshop scenarios, even though you have the correct assets. I bought B->E about same time as OP(pre Steam Workshop) and refuse to "rebuy" it from Steam...

I just ran a workshop scenario on a JT purchased B-E. Went into build and launched the scenario from that location. I agree could never do it before, but somehow works now.
