Installing Assets
Hello. I've just started playing TS2015 and don't yet know that much about it. I was looking for some freeware assets to add to the game and come across this site http://railworks-austria.at/index.php/downloads/viewcategory/13-personenwagen from where I downloaded the OBB Eurofima wagons and then installed them using the utility.exe app from the Railworks folder; they work fine. I then downloaded and installed what seemed to be reskins for DB and CD of the same Eurofima wagons but for some reason these don't show up in the game. I tried doing a quick drive but I got an error and then I tried to see if they would show in a scenario but no luck either...the game lists the assets but when I attempt to place them on the track, they are not there.

I must be doing something wrong because I also tried to install a few repaints for a couple of DB locomotives and those did not work either. I tried clearing the cache but that did not fix anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have the Eurofirma wagons installed, however only the ÖBB ones. I never tried the others. I can give them a try this evening. How about the Modularwagen or Taurus repaints?
What error message do you get?
One thing I could think of is that the repaints and the actual add-ons are installed in different locations, but then you wouldn't be able to see them in your consist creator.
I only they have originally been designed for an older version of TS so there might be the clash.

Skins and repaints can be found in Marketplace and can be used in Scenarios of your own creation, or Workshop Scenarios that list them as requirements.

The game just says that the quick drive scenario could not be loaded. I looked in the Assets folder and the wagons are all installed in the same place...a folder named Andi_M.

Really? I could not find anything very interesting for German railroads and considering how expensive DLC packs are I'd like to supplement may collection with some freeware addsons.

Sometimes you have to add a file from the original wagon or loco to have the repainted ones to work.Look in the readme.I had the same problem with a couple of passenger cars. After I put in the file they worked fine.

True but not for Railworks-Austria add-ons, they mostly come with a *.rwp only.
I'll install them today and see if they show up on mine.

The files that he means won't be included in the reskin download, but rather the original wagon. You'll have to copy them over from the original default skin folder into the reskin folder.

This is needed because the file that is being copied is the shape file, and if it was inluded in the reskin, you could use that wagon without buying the original, so it is omitted. It'll be a .GeoPcDx file if it does need copying, but do as the manual says.

The original file is freeware

Okay I tried that now. I don't see the repaints in the consist editor, the 3D preview. However I can add them to the train and run a quick a drive scenario. No issue what so ever.

@ Feliks, the original file is a *.rwp only too. So no extra download content. And the reskins do work for me. That got me puzzled.

Thank you for trying...I tried uninstalling the packages and reinstalling but still no luck. Not sure what I'm doing wrong especially since the OBB pack works and the installation process is fairly straight forward.

Its an interesting issue, since you obviously are able to use the content in the consist and scenario creator. Do you have any issues with other content, by which I mean Steam DLC's. I know you said you had troubles with repaints, but with the actual Steam ones?
Tomisnic Feb 9, 2015 @ 4:02pm
I don't have that namy DLCs....just the routes and rolling stock which came with TS2015 and I purchased the Cologne-Koblenz, the 189 and the Taurus locomotives. No problems with any of them.

Its good that you got the Taurus, there are repaints for it from the railworks-austria webside. Did you try those?
Tomisnic Feb 9, 2015 @ 6:51pm
Unfortunately, no. I tried twice but I get a .dmp file whenever I select them...whether in Quick Drive or Scenario editor, TS2015 just crashes. The install readme is minimalist so at first I assumed that they must be for this other version of the Taurus I saw here: http://trainsimcontents.blogspot.com/ I have the DLC from Steam...not sure who it's made by but I paid $20 for a loco which came with just one livery and now I can't seem to get any others to work.
