AP Waggonz Class 90
I swapped a Class 86 with a Class 90 in a scenario. I followed the instructions to the letter and everything seems to work fine, panto, lights, key, etc, but the engine will not move. I've repeated the exercise a number of times, taking great care to follow the instructions, but still the same - except - on one occasion, for whatever reason, the engine started to move slowly - up to abut 8 mph, then cruised to a stop again.

Any ideas, folks?

Could it be that when you swapped the locos you accidently picked the Advanced (ADV) version of the 90 and not the Standard (STD, HUD) version. They do drive differently.

Which Class 90 did you replace it with, and do you know how to drive the class 90?

It might also help if we know the route/scenario you tried it on. Those willing to help and owning said route/scenario can try it out themselves to see where you might have gone wrong.

Silly question, but did you turn off the parking break?
allancrowley Jul 12, 2015 @ 4:33am
Yes, parking brake off.

I've driven a Class 90 HUD but not an ADV. But followed instructions to the letter.

The Loco is an AP_Waggonz Class 90 Pack Virgin U/B.

The Route is WCMLN and the Scenario is "Hand Over", a Workshop Scenario.

I forgot to mention, whilst the train is sitting therethere's a high pitched rapid bleeping, which I can't stop.

you forgot to mention the most vital part of your problem lol
AWS, hit Q to stop the bleeping noise (I think, if q doesn't work try numpad enter)

Since I know what these units tend to default to in the scenario editor ...

Which one of these screenshots best represent your cab on starting?

Neither screenshot, sorry.

And I've tried Q but not tried Numpad Enter.

I've eventually got the train to move. I think it was because I drained the brakes fully. I also held the Parking Brake off button down for 15 secs after turning it off (RTFM?), except it doesn't say that in the instructions, just the label on the PB.

The problem is, though, that even though the Train Control is set at 105 mph I can't get it to accelerate to more than 38 mph, and that too miles.

And I can't get the Dynamic Brake to less than 57%.

Still bleeping, though.

I think you may need to reinstall it then, because there's only 2 startup options for the unit and what they both look like is what I posted. Might help if you could take a screenshot of yours though.

The constant beeping is probably the DSD, numpad Enter is the key according to the manual (just chceked).

Do you have any red lights on the LED status lights?
allancrowley Jul 12, 2015 @ 5:26am
Tried the Numpad Enter. No luck. I've uploaded a screenshot but I don't have any idea how to load it here.

From your screenshot, you haven't put ETS or headlights on.

There is an ETS on key to the right of the clipboard

Besides that, it's hard to say from that screenshot.

Only in this screenshot. Other times I have the ETS and headlights a on. Seems to me that I have everything pretty well switched on and it's odd that I can get it to drive but only slowwwwwly up to 38 mph. Seems like a brakes issue to me, but I can't solve it.

It seems like you do have a brake on, question is which one. Loco, train, parking. Try turning all the brakes you can think of and find to off. And see if that help.

I'll download the scenario and have a look at it myself.

Biggest difference in above screens and your own screenshot is the sunflower. it is displaying for you and not in above screens. The sunflower is the warning for aws or whatever they call it on this system. Might mean nothing but that is the most obvious diff in those screens
