UK steam locomotives. The best one?
Which of the available TS2015 DLC British steam locomotives that you have purchased are the best for you (appearance, cabin view, sounds, operation and physics)?

Ever since I started driving Just Trains Steam I've been unable to to bring myself to drive anything else.

I prefer A2 Peppercorn:

I like it for advanced steam engine simulation, of course the manually operated whistle and I very much like it's appearance

The Peppercorn. I saw yesterday a video with Matt Peddlesden driving one. Looks nice. I wonder what is your opinion about her physics.

I didn´t know about this one. I will have to dig in Just Trains to see what they have to offer. What about sounds and physics? Is there a YouTube with this loco?

In my opinion the physics is pretty nice. You need a lot of focus to prevent wheel slips.

Steam Sounds Supreme is a group in the U.K. that offers payware mods to upgrade sound, smoke and physics for British Steam locomotives. I highly recomend them.

Yes, I have read about them in all these days here in Steam. I will take a look. Thanks

Thank you. I will check it tonight.

With regards to the LNER Peppercorn Class A2, Blue Peter. I think it is very expensive at $21.99 CDN, with only 3 scenarios. I can only find 1 worshop scenario, does anyone know of any more?

Edit: The only workshop scenario I can find is The Dockland Special on the Falmouth Branch. Anyone know of any others?

What about the BR 9F
http://store.steampowered.com/app/222631/

and BR 6MT
http://store.steampowered.com/app/258641

Those two compared to the Peppercorn?

The issue with both those models is that they're both IHH models. Although I don't have the Class 9 I do have the Class 6 and the JT one is massively superior.

In fact as I've previously pointed out, the IHH Class 6 isn't even a Class 6, its a Class 7 that he renumbered. I can't imagine the Class 9 being much better.

AshHill07,
Excuse my rookie questions:
What is about "IHH" models? IHH meaning? Another developer?

Chicken Balti told me a few days ago that the Class 9 is very good. He is or has been in real world steam. The cabin view pictures look is infinitely superior to cabin views of G-Trax American locos. But I prefer a good physics.

The 9F's were very much respected engines by all crews that worked them, good steamers, nice and powerful plus high grip with proper use of the regulator and reverser. Found to be good on passenger work too, despite driving wheel size, could attain 90mph on some routes. The SnD with it's heavy gradients made good use of them towards the end.
Castle class is also a fine engine for passenger work and very willing steamers with a good fireman. Again capable of over 90mph on the main out of Paddington towards Birmingham and the West. Sounds very nice too.

The 9F is a lot better, in fact up there with the A2 - I personally like it better, but best is always a personal choice anyway. Any of the steamers from SmokeBox are great as well.
