UK TrainSim Freeware Packs - Any Good?
Hi fellows.

I have a 3 month subscription to UKTrainSim and wondered if their freeware packs and other content is (any) good?

Thanks :steamhappy:

Yep I live on there. Good place for Reskins and scenarios. I have renewed my membership over and over and keep going back.

There are some free routes too as long as you make sure you have all the required assets. What you need is normally listed and can consist of both freeware and payware.

i personally like the mayflower line.it is essential that you download things like uk steam,uk diesals, carriages, buildings etc all free packs.it can take sometime for download to complete.

That's great info peeps.

Thanks for that. I registered a few weeks ago but can't remember why - so I had to go back to see what it was all about. Seems my initial subscription hasn't gone to waste :steamhappy:

It's little trouble to download if you have an active subscription. Sometimes you need it. Mayflower line is great, as are the scenario packs. The UK wagon pack is crap, far too many liveries, cluttering your assets list.

Reskins and routes, yes. But the free trains in their freeware packs are rubbish.

Just to add for those who may use the search function:

There are some UKTrainSim freeware packs that require you to have some other paid content whether that be from Railsim or Steam or other purchased content.

For example; out of the 7 TrainSim Route Packs only 2 - Coniston Branch and the Mayflower Line can be added to your Train Sim routes without the need for further paid content.

Just say'n...

The freeware project packs are a good thing to have if you are interested in railroading in the U.K. or are looking for something a bit different from the U.S. routes. The Mayflower Line is nice, but I personally vow for the Coniston Branch. It is a favorite of mine.

For those who may not know, the UK Freeware packs are also available at TrainSim (http://www.trainsim.com). They will download faster than from the reee UKTrainSim.

I've had Coniston for a week or two and it's lovely :steamhappy:

Interesting. Just to say (though) the small price of a subscription to UKTrain sim has been invaluable to me - but thanks dcshoe :steamhappy:
