London to Birmingham
Wchich of the two available routes is better? The one via WCML or Chiltern? I can imagine that WCML is more rapid, with many tracks and Chiltern is more countryside is that correct? I like driving complete services (from terminus to termins) and it seems that Chiltern can offer that. What about WCML - are there real life trains going from London and terminating at Birmingham or do all of them go further north? I've read many negative reviews about Chiltern, can someone confirm it's bad? I have funds for only one of these routes now and have to pick something ;)

The Chiltern Mainline's bad reviews are a consequence of people not reading the product page beforehand and not checking the DLC requirements. The route, as it is, looks good and is very long, but unfortunately is very taxing on framerate due to the heavy use of 3D trees on the lineside. WCML South will run straight out of the box, but has a lot of technical issues that are currently in the process of being fixed, so be prepared for some frustration.

i like both routes. The Chiltern Route is the best .

yes in real life theres alot of terminus services on wcml London-Brimingham with 390 and a lot of commuter service ending at Euston and start a lot of places on the line. It is alot to do on the line even some part of the overground (workshop)

I own both (Chiltern is my local line) but I prefer wcml.
The chiltern line looks really dated imo but i do enjoy seeing the tube running along side.
The WCML is a far more impressive route and newer too. It’s running great since DTG’s updates

The West Coast Mainline has more London-Birmingham services in the scenarios and has all the right trains. The Chiltern Line is good but comes with 166s reskined to 165s. If you wanted the Turbostar, you'd need to get the 170 pack from Thompson and the AP 168/170/171 EP. It is also worth noting that there is only 1 London-Birmingham scenario (using the 166) and there is one scenario that requires the Thompson pack. The WCMLS reskins are alot better and clearer that the Chiltern ones. If you want a great route that has no requirements to make the scenaros, go for WCML, and if you want a route that eats framerate and doesn't have what it should, go for Chiltern. There are some good things about the CML thogh, like the station detail.

It is impossible to make working scenarios on CML

Ok thanks guys. Now I realised that WCML lacks one important thing. There is no branch for Northampton which in my opinion is hard to justify. It seems only ICE trains are playable, because if you pick the slow tracks you'd have to switch to fast just to pass Northampton and then back to slow to continue? It's like they only modelled fast tracks.
