Hey there! I had the same problem that caused me to not be able to play the sim for over a year. Then a very helpful person replied to me about something unrelated, but gave me the idea to try something. It was a very simple solution. When you start the sim, ask for it to use the 64 bit, Direct-X 12 Experimental build. It solved the problem and I've been running ever since. I was just about ready to pull what hairs I had left on my head out with this problem and finally just gave up for over a year. But this simple switch corrected everything. There is one drawback in that the Store button is grayed out and in the Workshop Tab the button to see the scenario on Steam is not shown, but that is a small price to pay for being able to run TSC again. I just hope that DTG will eventually correct this small matter.

I sincerely hope this corrects the problem for you and you'll be back to enjoying running trains! Take care and happy railsimming!! :choo::chooo::choooo:

Hello Cal.R, we talked about the random repeated problems you were having with TSC and your laptop some time ago. As I said then, laptop and notebooks are not supported by DTG who make TSC. They are generally not built with enough processing power to play more demanding games like TSC, unless very much more powerful and therefor very expensive models.
You will have random problems playing TSC until you can afford to up-grade to a more powerful PC.

Gaming and laptops are two things that dont compute.

I had a couple that escaped E3 on ebay a few times and they did well. For a while anyway. Dual vid cards and so on playing demos of the latest games in the show. Prices ranged 1000 give or take in bidding wars as they dumped hundreds of these machines after.

They still dont compute. I wont be doing that again anytime soon. I do own some laptops and those are for much much older pre 1998 games that dont necessarily need any internet to play or hardly any desktop hardware to run well. One serves music duty right now. Thats it. Hardly anything else these days for it.
