Wessex Line: Southampton to Salisbury.

Hi, Purchased this in the sale but it would not install. It installed two freight liners that apparently come with it but no route, tried twice but no luck. Had several conversations with Steam support but they say the problem is with the publisher, they can't help. Been on the Dovetail site but could not find the game never mind any help. Has anyone had the same problem and knows how to fix it? Steam have reimbursed me the cost but it's a shame, I really wanted this add on.

Do you own Southampton to Bournemouth? This is needed for the route to work.

Hi, yes I do, had it for some time, that downloaded and runs fine. I live in the area so was looking forward to driving it.

Hi, I bought it the other day too and had to search for it. It installed under standard scenarios and not the career scenarios.

I don't think the route comes with career scenarios.

Have you tried contacting Just Trains, I have an idea they were the developers of the route, they may very well help you, can only try.

Hi,
I bought the Wessex Line expansion recently - they only have standard scenarios which is a bit of a shame but no great loss. If you have any of the Armstrong Powerhouse packs, you can swap out the locos using Loco Swap for a good experience as well :)

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I'm sure I checked all the options for playing but maybe it was in standard and I missed it, maybe it was there all the time. I think I will buy it again and take a chance while it is in the sale for 12 euros I'm not paying 32 euros for it.
Regarding the Armstrong pack, I don't know how to do this, I'm not too technical. If it's just a down load I'll try but I don't get into altering files or stuff.

The product page is misleading, it says 'Free Roam and Quick drive are included, it does not say they are the only inclusions.

OK, thanks for that, I've misunderstood that the game has no career mode and that some scenarios only depend on the loco chosen. Apologies to Just Trains, it's just that I'm old and stupid.

Hi Bob, I'm also old and stupid, as the missus constantly reminds me. I recently purchased this DLC. On first attempt could find nothing at all, so I came out of the game, went right back to the Steam homepage and started again. Bingo! All there. There are 10 Standard scenarios and a whole shed load of options in Quick Drive, including the little known single track line between Romsey and Eastleigh via Chandlers Ford. Overall I'm impressed, FPS is good, scenery is fairly accurate, particularly around Soton Central, although Southampton's buses are blue and the SWR local Class 159 unit consists of 2 and not 3 cars, but you do get a good glimpse of St Mary's stadium as you round the Northam curve. (I just happen to live in this neck of the woods). So there we go, hope this is of use.

Yes, unfortunately no career mode but don't let that put you off :) You sometimes need to load Train Sim Classic, exit and reboot for the DLC to install properly. For this extension, the scenarios are saved under Standard > Just Trains Wessex Main Line (or something like that)

Hi fellow Grandad, thanks for the info, despite my hiccups I persevered because I'm local too (Portsmouth ;-) Love the south coast routes, feels like home. Happy Christmas from sunny Spain.

Thank you, I've learned a lot thanks to the help I received, being naive it never occurred to me there was not a career mode. Now looking forward to driving them.
