TS 2016 v54.5b, Store Icon Greyed Out?
It seems to me that it has been like this for quite some time. Fortunately, I don't often purchase items from the in game marketplace, but I do sometimes. Is anyone else experiencing this? Can I fix it somehow? Would uninstalling/reinstalling TS 2016 help? If so, is there any downside to this?

I recon a steam or system restart didn't sort it?
When it comes to reinstalling the game, downside is that you also need to reinstall all 3rd party and mods you might have. Besides that time is the only issue.

As it is a menu item, are you on the free update or on the paid version? if on the paid version you could try to just reinstall the menu DLC and see if that helps

OK, thanks Mav... I don't have any third party stuff, so that is not an issue. I have the paid version. What do you mean by, "reinstall the menu DLC"? How would I do that?

I noticed that as well but after my last game, it seems to have come back.

Steam was having some hiccups, usually the store icon being grayed out is either a communications problem (your internet connection) or server side - there was a problem with PayPal and Steam for awhile as well - all could have contributed

When you go to your installed DLC list ( Library list, right click Train Simulator in that list, go to properties, go to DLC tab) there is a item called Train Simulator 2016 User Interface Overlay. Remove the tick you see listed with it and wait until Steam has done what it does (the status bar bottom steam), , start your game and close it again, now in that DLC list retick the item, again wait till Steam is done doing it's thing and check if the game now has a working shop and search

The steam store and forums have been up and down for the last few days. One thing you might try is to change your download server in Steam > settings>downloads.

Hi Mav.... Thanks for the clarification, I can certainly do and will try that. I have started a support ticket with DTG. Although I explicitly detailed the problem, they asked me to send them a screen shot. I can't believe it. I am not holding my breath with them, I will try what you suggest. Thanks - Ken.

Hi Mav.... Did that, and I believe I did exactly what you suggested, but it didn't help. Darn it anyway. Since I don't have any other options right now, I am going to try it again.

Thanks rwaday for the suggestion. I did part of that and it shows only two servers in Canada, one in Vancouver, which is the one I am using, and is relatively close, if that has any relevance, and one in Winnipeg. Do you really think changing servers will help?

Sometimes it will especially if one has high traffic. Make sure you change it back to the default location when done.

Actually, there are seven servers in Canada. I tried three different ones to no avail. Darn it anway. I guess I will wait and see what DTG support suggest, but thanks, guys, for your suggestions.

yep ,my store icon has been grayed out since the update to 2016,paid copy. I to tried all the different serves and got no where. I figure DTG wil get it fix?some year and have given up using it.being in MT. no severs are actual close.I am using Denver for now.

Seems strange this problem isn't universal - I have no problem with the store icon, much to the regret of my wallet... So with that being the case, it doesn't fit with a bug In be the base code alone. I wonder how widespread this problem really is?
