If you want to expand the game with new routes and rolling stock, you either buy it on Steam from DTG, or from an independent developer.
"Free stuff" is available in the Steam Workshop and on-line from some developers.
You did not understand. I can ONLY play with little ned. I have the game in my family sharing system.
Only 1 train type to select. Nothing appears in standard and free roam.

Don't play family share then, buy the game when it is on sale and get the full version. All problems with family share are Steam problems, not Train Simulator problems.

To get quick drive, click the loco icon top left then select from the list that opens on the right. then select a route the same way.
Click career and scenarios that come with the route will show.
